Men are odd creatures. I wish we could ask some very blunt questions here about the opposite sex, but I have a feeling it would be deemed too...blunt.

I'm sure some questions wouldn't be deemed appropriate for the open forums, but you're free to PM me if you ever wish to ask anything.

Finding employment or keeping employment?

I totally understand how overwhelming those thoughts can be. Remember that we're encouraged to cast our worries onto God, so maybe take a moment to pray and find some comfort in knowing that He's looking out for you. Keep the faith, and things will work out in His time. If you ever need a listening ear, I'm here for you! :praying:

My concern about asking them questions is if it would violate CF's terms and conditions. This isn't a free speech place like Gab.

Well, I might not be a man, but you know, you can always feel comfortable coming to me with your questions too. If I don't happen to know the answers, I won't try to act like I do. But sometimes having a good chat about things can bring some clarity. I think it's good to be curious and want to find understanding.

Edit: Quoted the wrong thing, haha.

I never considered his stuff to be overly Christian, then people started to point out parallels, so I see them now, but don’t think the works are saintly or anything like that.

I disagree w/ both posters who have said there’s not supposed to be any parallels & it's more or less a coincidence.

I disagree w/ people who say Christians shouldn’t read his stuff & mainstream secular stuff.

I used to like Harry Potter, I’ve grown apathy towards it, it seems more & more childish as I’ve gotten older. Obsessive fanbaseing over fantasy in general isn't healthy to individuals nor society.

I have little concern about whether something is or isn't Christian. The lone question that comes to mind is whether it exemplifies the Kingdom or not. The two aren't one in the same and ideas are ever growing.

If it isn't a testament I treat it accordingly. I don't try to make it fit or see the Kingdom where its absent. I see it for what it is. Personal interest doesn't set aside the truth. It may camouflage it if my commitment to the 'thing' supersedes the Lord's perspective in that area. In that instance I've opted for my own or another's in its place and I'll encounter more dichotomies.

When we're committed to seeing things the way He does there's no confusion.

The first week of bible college is in the books and it was INSANE. I severely underestimated the course load, but I did okay. In a four-day span, I had to read ALL 66 chapters of Isaiah, Colossians, 1st & 2nd Thessalonians, the textbook material, watch several videos and write a 400-word discussion for each of the 3 classes. On top of teaching Sunday school, working 9 hours a day, and other stuff, it was a rough week. I'm not complaining though. It was kind of fun!

How on earth do you read all of Isaiah in 4 days? It took me so many months to study through it

Well I didn't do an in-depth study on it. Only had to read it, so I did listen to a lot of it while at work and stuff. There's no other way I could've done it. I didn't even read all of the material for the apologetics class, which was more intense than the other two. I have a better handle on what's expected, so I'm going to get busy probably on Sunday.
