I think less and less people are choosing to log on and post.

I believe the ad takeover on the page awhile back had something to do with it. And who knows what other negative things people experience on here.

I wish I could interact with others more in the Non-Denominational section. It seems like other denominations on here have more active people.
I wish there was more Activity in the Non-Denominational, Reformed, Baptist, & Fundamental sections. Catholic & Orthodox sections are very active in the Denomination sections.

A lot of frequent posters have left. But it seemed fine even last week!

Who am I and how did I get back to this forum?

I think we all remember you, Miss Scraparcs. ^-^

By the way, what are the origins of your name, may I ask?

I barely remember myself!
I think I just wanted a name that was a palindrome. If I recall I was probably in my early 20s or so when I picked the name. Actually I've rebranded my name across most other sites, but even that one doesn't quite work now. Who knew that teenagers would pick online pseudonyms that would follow them their whole lives?

My best friend, my 18 year old cat, is dying. He has chronic kidney disease and recently stopped eating. He is in pain and can barely move. His systems are shutting down and he's already had a couple of seizures. I've taken him to the vet multiple times over the past week and he's scheduled for another visit in the morning. Likely his last. I'm already overcome with grief. Such an awesome little guy. Super sweet, friendly, fun, and cuddly.

He has accompanied me on trips to visit family, moved with me, and is arguably the heart of my home. I'm dreading how empty this building will feel without his presence.

Tonight, we're on the family room floor. Fleece blankets laid out for comfort, his scratcher, a litter box with the sides cut lower so it isn't too hard for him to climb in, food in case he recovers the desire to eat, and water. He used to sleep on my bed until he thought I fell asleep, at which point he would leave the room to sleep on his favorite chair. His food, water, and litter used to be in the basement. When he was more mobile, he seemed to enjoy going up and down the stairs.

I knew when I adopted him from a shelter in 2005 that this day would come, but I shut it out of my mind. This is his forever home, before he leaves to be with God, and I'm glad that he was able to be with me for as long as he has. I don't look forward to saying goodbye, but I'm glad that I had him in my life.

This post may be somewhat incoherent as I'm still processing the situation.

Hey, what's wrong, Miss Chelsea?

Tired from work in the middle of the night, perhaps? (Just presuming that since it would certainly be my case. ^-^ )

I honestly do not know what is wrong. I am just struggling mentally and emotionally right now.

I wonder why they were able to breed so selectively from wolves to dogs but don't really try other kinds

I think it's because dogs work well as companions for humans. One of the things that sets us apart from a lot of other animals is our stamina. We're not as fast as them but we can keep going for longer, and dogs are able to match us on that. Throw in their intelligence and their social nature and you've got a lot of traits already there to work with.

It's entirely possible that they didn't only try dogs, but dogs ended up being the ones which stuck.

The remake of Resident Evil 4 came out today. And I found this insanely awesome vid on YouTube to celebrate it. ^_^

Reminds me of the anime style I saw on a few Nickelodeon shows as a child in the early 90's, like The Littl' Bits.
