  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Hey brother, you're the one that recommended Audacity right, or was it @public hermit?

Whoever it was, when I try to access it, it takes me to a place to get out of S Mode.

So, what do you think, should I?

*Thanks!
I didn't mention Audacity - but I should have, because it is a very useful app to have - and it's free.
It's good for making recordings. I'm not sure about 'S' mode - I haven't explored the app in much detail. Maybe publichermit might be able to help? Or you could post a message on their user forum: https://forum.audacityteam.org/

BTW, there is another open source app which you might want to look at:
ardour - the digital audio workstation

Yay! ^_^ :trophy:

It's about time I was awarded with something. I haven't won a trophy since Obama was in office.

I get those occasionally.. took a few years for some of my trophies to even show up though. Lol.

Oh, yeah, I'm looking into Ardour right now. I probably got it confused with Audacity. Ugh, I had to uninstall Audacity.

Thanks!

I have two more days in this stretch of work days (6 out of 7). And they look to be extremely busy from here. Please pray for me to make it through without any mistakes, if I may ask.

I wish there was a greater emphasis on therapy and healing in the church. When you've suffered hurt you need to talk it out and learn healthy ways of relating. You can't be a bull in a china shop or use the past as a crutch for dysfunction. God wants us whole and operating on His sphere. Not the one that destroyed us.

Good job. I twice did 10 days in a row of work in my life.

Been dealing with depression or just sadness lately.

I've developed a deep hatred for the person I once was, although I also know the person I "once was" was acting according to his genetics and to fight that is possible but leads one with an empty and unfulfilled life. So disgusted.. I think sterilizing myself might be a good thing. If it was just me I could shrug it off.. but my bad traits are incredibly present in my sister and horribly present in my relatives to a much more extreme degree.. noting they didn't have the benefit of growing up in a loving family.

The idea of someday raising a child like me fills me with utter disgust.

Whew.

Get what I basically asked for. This night is rough. Over six hours in and I just now got to dinner break. And there's at least three hours' more worth of work waiting for me already.

I have a question about Peter's act of Denial and Judas's act of betrayal

The enormity of judas's sin is seen in the words one of the twelve. Jesus was betrayed by one of His inner circle. Judas must have been considered a person of integrity or he would not have been trusted as treasurer.

But it strange how Peter's denial of Jesus is not considered a sin at all.

What say you?

Who said Peter's denial wasn't a sin. The difference is Peter repented and Judas went and hanged himself.

The woman at my work has been acting up. Yesterday she shouted out loud that I said "I hated fat women". Earlier she asked if I preferred thinner women (she's overweight) and I flat out told her I did. The following days she made comments about her going on a diet and whatnot and I just rolled my eyes. Then this happened she took my comment about preferring thin women and twisted it to the idea that I hated fat women and felt it was appropriate to shout this out within ear shot of other overweight women. I think the other women could tell I was embarrassed and I called her out for twisting my words, but still.. that's just flat out rude work behavior.

Then she said she'd make sure that we always worked together from here on out.

HR time, bro. She's asking inappropriate questions, then getting mad at your answers and making scenes in front of your coworkers. It's time to take it to HR. She is escalating and they have to see that.

Long overdue.
