I see a lot of men, claiming to be straight shootin' warriors for Christ - when what *I* see, is a perpetual ego flex, loaded to bursting point with self aggrandising macho talk, gas lighting and belittling buzz words.

The way I see it, they're no different to that roid' guy that you bump into in the doorway of the gym - y'know the one, the one who likes to bar your way and give you a noogie when you try to get past. (This actually hasn't happened to me, I'm just creating an image.)

If THAT is that they think it means to "live in His image" then they need go back to the drawing board. Because boys, you're an embarrassment to us.

If you hope to make it in this world: emotional intelligence - number one. Which means no sweeping generalisations and no comparing "the modern day" Christian man to little old ladies.

It's easy to say you're this and that when life is swell. And another matter when your back is against the wall and Satan's on your neck. Then you learn what you're made of. You discover the difference between bravado and grit and your mettle takes a beating. Will you stand or fold? That's the question.

It's happened to me, time and time again. You're winning, your confidence has gone from sky high to intergalactic and then WALLOP - that proverbial piano lands on your head and you come crashing back down.

The 'secret' everyone is looking for lies unfortunately within that process of climbing up and falling down - and yes, I SO wish that it was as easy as calling someone a big girl and then proceeding to load up my AK-47 with my quote rounds, but it isn't. The world is a hard place to make it in.

For example, a depressed individual has to work five times harder than the rest of us just sitting idle. There's nothing left wing (sick of hearing that now) or 'liberal' about it. It's a fact. And if they only just about manage to make it to the bathroom to brush their teeth (even if exhausts them) then the same amount of effort is being spent by them as it is by the high flyer who's working 17 hours a day.

It's time we started to focus on EFFORT rather than results. (Uncle Reese's thought of the day.)

I just finished a cup of hawthorn and rosehip tea. It was not bad at all but there is always room for improvement; and being as this, my second attempt at hawthorn tea, was exponentially better than the first, I have hope I will meet success. I should be getting some hibiscus blossoms from the market which I'm keen to try as well.

I've never had that perspective on life. But ease can be misleading. I take a lot for granted because effort comes easy for me and I enjoy it.

It's time we started to focus on EFFORT rather than results. (Uncle Reese's thought of the day.)

Results are important. It allows you to gauge your actions to determine if the expense is worthwhile. If we only look at effort you'd have a lot of people working at things and getting nowhere. Competency can't wholly rest on it either. Some people are more efficient, more talented, etc. I don't believe in giving gold stars for showing up.

Probably. It fizzled out. I usually have a small cold latte. No more than a cup. But that's all I want now. I'll ride it out. It would give a chance to fast.

Besides job hunting.. I mainly played The Last Of Us Part 2. Really helped distract me from my present concerns. The game is amazing.

That sounds like fun. I could use some myself. I spoke to my best friend earlier for a bit. This has been a crazy week. Last week I discovered my sewing class is full. They created a new site and didn't use a forwarding link. I'm on the waiting list but I'm looking at the next class in January.

My coaching program begins this month. I'm wavering. I don't want to spend the money. *lol Although I'm saving because I wouldn't have to travel.

Well it's certainly a game with very progressive themes. Haven't played far enough, but i heard conservative Christians are the bad guys in the game.. which is something I don't like.. but the game itself is still designed well. Hope that rumor I heard isn't true. There is a religious cult in it, but I hope it's just some made up religion for the game.

Wow, that's crazy. I hope that isn't the case. The theme is eerie because it mirrors some of the things we're experiencing now.
