This is a loving gesture. We cross paths with many and rarely realize the impact they have on our lives until they’re gone.

I remember my first post. You were very welcoming. I wasn’t sure I’d stay. But your kindness made a difference. And between you and @Anthony7 I thought I’d be okay. Even though I was missing a familiar place. @Multifavs was equally kind.

We should show our appreciation more frequently. :)

I have begun reading a book by a man named Preston Sprinkle titled "Fight: A Christian Case For Non-Violence". I admit, the idea of the Bible pre-dominantly teaching non-violence as the God-commanded way of Christ-believers certainly appeals to me, and I may be approaching this reading with obvious bias towards the affirmative - that God would have us strive to maintain peace even with the worst of enemies and be abhorred at the idea of fighting and war. Nevertheless, 10% of the way in and the author has already given good cases from Genesis alone to reconsider the oft-held Christian position of pro-militancy against violent enemies (such as international terrorists). Such as when Isaac forfeits a line of wells he dug to a Philistine king of all people in order to maintain peace in Genesis 26, and I see no evidence for God chastising or condemning Isaac for giving up what is by pretty much all rights his to Abimelech in order to keep from violent strife.

Thus far, I recommend this book to those who believe in Christ and yet are torn on the case-by-case issues of when and if Christian believers should ever take up the sword.

There are better ways of dealing with evil people in this world but the kingdom of Caesar does not want to be destroyed. It needs people to keep using its coins so that it has legitimacy. of course who in their right mind would want to use a coin of Satan which is even worse.

I like to think of currency as a measure of the kind of being a person is. I prefer the coins of God. Pick whatever you want and
Render unto whom they belong. But please do know that the more you use Caesars currency the harder it is for the kingdom of God to come to be. The evil people in this world should be restrained but I don't think the world leaders have enough wisdom to properly fulfill this task. To some degree they succeed but when they're not succeeding they're just making things worse.

There is not a better place for a Christian Warrior to be than his own community. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a Christian Community. So those people fight for their Nation. The modern world is already so systematized and separated that it would be such a mess to try to make something better. And I'm pretty sure that Christians would not be allowed to.

In my eyes now more than ever it would be nice to see Christians band together so strongly that we show every one in the world how inferior their ways are. But in order to do that we would have to be better than we are. And the world would resist us.

We can literally have everything the modern world has except our currency would be purpose and love. Of course since we would all take care of each other in theory no one would have lack and people wouldn't have to sacrifice themselves so much that they need hip replacements. and pseudo-enslavement such as rented homes will be done away with cuz houses will be built for people as a hobby and a desire to help your fellow citizen of Heaven. Maybe one day we will get there.

Does anyone else find that reciting the Lord's Prayer helps with anxiety and panic attacks?

It is difficult to say. Sometimes it helped me in my time with scrupulosity several years ago, providing at least temporary emotional relief. Other times the panic and fear persisted relentlessly.

I hope you do not mean to say that you are experiencing them now, however, Wayholk. :(

I'm not sure. I might be more of a variation of the Wide-Eyed Idealist mentioned in the beginning of that description, where I fit that trope but can still have more of a gloomy or somber air about my ideals. ^_^ Unless what you were saying is that you'd like to be the one to apply for the role of the knight in sour armor.
