  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

I travel a lot for my job. The weird becomes normal after a while. But personally I'm more weirded out by the things that I see at airports and hospitals than the public's actions. I expect there to be dumb people doing dumb things. But I expect less idiocracy from professional places like airports and hospitals. Which is not the case most of the time...

My beard hair is turning more and more blond every week.. not sure why this is happening. I have brown hair though, not sure how good a blond beard with dark brown hair would look.

Counting my blessings.

I may not think I'm good-looking now, and I looked better when I was a little kid, but at least I look better now than I did in my late child and early teen years.

Some of the things I said and did online during my early teen years (my first years speaking to others online) are so embarrassing to think about now. I may not be perfect now either, but I'm thankful that I'm generally more careful and thoughtful in my interactions.

Having persistent anxiety is no fun, but at least I'm not dealing with school at the same time. My time not having to go to public school anymore would have been a lot better without it, but if I'd started having it while I was still in public school I never could have made it.

I’ve said some stupid things and things I definitely regret on anonymous forums. I’m glad I never got heavily involved in social media with my picture posted to it like Facebook or something. I made a super small xanga account where I posted anonymously and almost nothing. I made several Facebook accounts but only friended one person and the only thing I ever said on it was happy birthday. I made a LinkedIn account recently and have added a lot of people on it but I keep it professional and keep the chatter to a minimum. I’ve said a lot of stuff I’m absolutely mortified about in anonymous online chat rooms. I can’t seem to shut up in them. It probably will come back to bite me someday

Shocked. That's all I can say.

A friend from church called me just now about an armed robbery that happened at a local convenience store I frequently go to each week. On the night it happened, I was at a weekday church service for a sermon and my friend who told me about this gave me a lift home. We stopped at the convenience store first, I grabbed my stuff and we left. Literally seconds to a couple minutes after we left, the armed robbery took place. If I stopped to have a conversation with the cashier like I sometimes do, I could have been shot. I would not know what to do in a situation like that.

I know I have a knack for being at the right place at the right time but holy frick! I may not believe in many near death experiences or modern claims of prophesy and xenoglossia but I certainly do believe in guardian angels!

That’s scary I’m glad you’re ok

Glad you're safe and that you weren't there at the time, you have a mighty God watching out for you (even though His angels have probably emptied a couple bottles of Tylenol by now, jk. :p). I can see something like that happening over here, but not over where you are. Crazy.

Thank you for the warm welcome Anthony. I noticed your image. Are you Jewish?
No problem. =) I'm not actually Jewish; I became a non-denominational Christian about 9 years ago. However in recent years, I've developed a strong interest in Jewish culture, especially regarding both their major and minor feast days. I see the culture in general as pointing to Yeshua and having deep symbolism, which really piqued my interest.

Ah, no, my mistake. You do appear quite new to this community. Welcome, @LaBèlla . *bows*

Just refer to myself or Miss @Multifavs if you ever need protection from great forces of Evil that afflict this place from the shadows; we two are the resident sir and lady knight of this community, you see. As you were sure to eventually discover. ^_^

The guy has been caught. He was robbing several gas stations throughout my town. I think he was waiting for me to leave first so he could do it without many witnesses. My church's security cameras manage to get a good image of his car which was an uncommon model where I live.
That's good to hear that he was caught!

It's a beautiful culture. I was raised Roman Catholic and spent many years looking for the Lord in different faiths. I found my way back to Him and Christ through Judaism. I arrived agnostic and nearing atheism. But they loved me Home.

Do you attend services or High Holy Days in your community?
Indeed, you can definitely see God's grace and omniscience woven in to their very culture. I came from a Roman Catholic background as well; my dad actually used to be a priest, but eventually left the priesthood. God ended up using eschatology and other methods in order to lead me to repentance and faith in Him alone for salvation, as well as a closer walk with Him. I've never regretted it.

That's a great testimony; I'm glad God brought you back to Him, and it's interesting He used Judaism to do it. I don't attend services or celebrations of Holy Days myself unfortunately, I just celebrate them in my own way. I don't know of any who celebrate them or of any Messianic synagogues in my area, but I'd definitely be interesting in checking them out. =)

Hey, she sounds familiar. Could it be a returning face ....?

Yeah, I didn't remember seeing her around before. There's been a couple new members posting in Singles off and on I've noticed.
