400 dollars spent today on supplies for upkeep and some other things I will need for this apartment. Showerhead replaced quite easily, old vacuum cleaner has been fixed, and two coats of epoxy paint have been applied today to that formerly cruddy old tub that served as a waterbug graveyard in the absence of tenants. A third and final coat will be placed in the morning and then I am heading off to Lantis' crib in El Dorado for the rest of the weekend, not to return to this place until after I get out of my first day at work Tuesday. (I have to supposedly keep the bathroom out of use for at least three days to ensure the coating on the tub sticks and running water will not cause it to ebb.) Took a break from working with upkeep and unpacking and all to watch this strange Italian horror film, titled "House By the Cemetery", over Wisconsin six-cheese pizza and Fuji water with the RPGMag guys as usual for Mag movie night on Saturdays. My own whimsical choice was for this film, and, well, I can't say the title of the movie lies.
T'was a fulfilling day today. Felt like I was being a big boy for once and handymanning it up on my own without hiring someone to fix/build/refurnish it for me, just once in my life.
Also for my gamer friends here (where has
@mojoboy31 been lately, anyway, speaking of?) I started on Star Ocean 5 earlier today at Lantis' before coming to the apartment to do all of the afore-mentioned nonsense, and, wow, I really need to start documenting my first times playing through RPG's and other games like this, because our commentary on this unofficial level should be treasured better in my memory. Just 3 to 4 hours into Star Ocean 5 and I met the most absurdly-dressed woman I think I have ever encountered in video games. I can't even describe this well, I don't think, but it just seems that, despite not being known for fanservice or anything like that, starting with Star Ocean 4 the series somehow felt it needed to have a sexy stereotype for everyone when it comes to its playable female protagonists. I noted that, true to Japan's fixation on such things, in SO4 there was the girl-next-door wearing leggings and a short skirt, the gloomy Lolita girl, the rambunctious scantily-clad cat girl, the demure girl with glasses who is literally out of this world because she is some sort of Angel person, and the sexy sorceress elf who absently teases all the guys with her general demeanor and absurd state of dress for common travel and formal affairs such as dining with royalty.
Ang again, now in SO5 it is shaping up to be pretty much the same lineup for our lady members of the playable band of heroes here, starting with Fiore the hilariously revealing sorceress and another cyborg-like Lolita character with unexplainable weapons hidden within her black-box mechanical systems who I could not help but immediately start calling "Baby KOS-MOS", because this is exactly who i imagine KOS-MOS would be in her place were KOS-MOS in the Star Ocean universe instead of the Xenosaga universe and designed to look like an 8 year-old girl. There's no explaining this rationally. Like i said, apparently just something for everyone when it comes to its male fanbase.
Anyway, back to Fiore, I really don't think I can put a picture of her up here where you can just see for yourself without at least getting a suspicious eye from the mods, so I am just going to try to describe it. All of her clothing is a solid form-fitting one-piece with alternating diamond patterns. One half of the diamonds are black fabric with gold trim or something .... and the other half are diamond-shaped areas where the clothing
is missing. So, by some miracle-working abilities of the tailer who made this outfit, each of the diamond pieces of fabric have to be thinly intertwined with another at all four corners and somehow never break through stress of battle and just normal wear during hard travel, because ever other space alternating with them is bare skin. .... Good lord, woman, aren't you cold? And what happens when just ONE thread snaps at just about anywhere on your body?
