It's a lot more subtle and not easily noticeable at first.

Notice how the protagonists are all women and minorities while the antagonists are all white males?

Leah's female general looks like the kind of woman you'd see teaching a gender studies class judging from her physical appearance.

The female general pretty much proves that the male pilot was wrong the whole time when her master plan was revealed.

Yeah, the Laura Dern character was kind of uncomfortable to watch.. although I'm not sure if the film met to depict men as bad and women as good.. I saw women who were also portrayed as bad.

The film also ended with a white boy show a message of hope.

Another possibility is making use of Ancestry's a free 14-day trial. It would be a one time only thing, but the idea would be that once I've gone as far as I can without paying I would sign up and then spend those two weeks gathering as much information as I can.

Yeah, that's what I did... lol.

I tried that once as well, on a one week trial a family member got. But then my week got super busy. But at least I had a couple documents saved. :D
I haven't gotten my own trial yet, but I might try it sometime. I wish it wasn't so expensive otherwise.

I've been using MyHeritage to record my family tree, which is free up to a limit (I think it's 250 people). The cheapest subscription is $5 a month, which doesn't allow you to look at records (that's $12.56 per month, which is still better than Ancestry), but it does try to match your family members with those in other family trees that people have created on the site, and you can incorporate those trees into yours.

I think sometimes at work we underestimate the importance of little things, like humor and music... things like this can help morale.
And snacks! Snacks.
You know what... forget the work!

Some good news and some bad news from the outdoors today...

The bad news: We had three houseplants, a Christmas cactus I picked out about six months ago and two succulents, one that my dad and brother brought home about a year ago and another that my mom and brother got for me shortly after that. Sadly, the cactus and the newer succulent recently died. Some stupid bugs killed them. :/ Poor things. That made me sad, but at least the other succulent is still doing okay. We managed to protect it from the bugs in time. We'll buy some replacements, but I will have to be more careful about how I water them. I think I was giving them too much water at once and that attracted the bugs. :disappointed:

The good news: I saw some pretty new flowers blooming! Also, I saw a pretty orange butterfly outside! I never see butterflies anymore so that was a very nice surprise.

we keep our christmas cactus inside. I like them, pretty flowers during... christmas.
For some reason the one we had that bloomed (not the one I mentioned in my last post but the one before that) only bloomed if we put it outside during the summer, but I'm starting to think we should look for another way. Then it would bloom in late October to early November. I do like their pretty flowers, though.

man, i'd love to see and hear this place in audio. i've pitched the idea to the powers that be here but faced staunch resistance. oh well, they're loss. someone else will come along and do it.

was watching this video. sounds like it could be all kinds of different problems. apparently there are also thanksgiving and easter cactus. one blooming during summer sounds really weird.

Oops I didn't word that quite right, it didn't bloom during the summer, it bloomed in the fall after we brought it back inside. It was probably actually a Thanksgiving cactus, but with the time it bloomed it was more like a Halloween cactus! I will have to check out that video.

it's quite true that wisdom cries in the streets but no one listens, it's frustrating when you see where a person is headed and you try to warn them but they are so fixed on sin and the now, and all that's left for you to do is watch...then they come back to you for advice but don't plan on changing...smh...
