Good morning!

Another weird dream from me from last night :

In one part I was with some kids and one of my study hall monitors from high school. It was the middle of winter and there were several feet of snow on the ground, and we were playing a board game outside! The wind blew some of the game pieces around and we had to chase them down. Then we went back inside but the study hall monitor had somehow gotten buried in the snow. All of a sudden we were in a school building and surprised the study hall monitor by shouting "Happy birthday!" She hugged all of us and started talking about food.

Another part was supposed to be part of my series, but it was totally different. Master Silhouite (one of the main villains) sent purple glowing magic over things to turn them evil. Zero Suit Samus and a guy who was supposed to be her friend (but his name was never mentioned, so I'll just call him Guy #1) were running through a field and a herd of buffalo was also running through that field. Master Silhouite struck the buffalo, causing them to turn evil and chase Samus and Guy #1, who ran away.

Master Silhouite then struck an entire town, turning everyone there into zombie/dummy-like monsters that ate yarn. People, along with a sheep, were sitting at picnic tables eating yarn when Samus and Guy #1, not knowing about the danger, came into town carrying a basket of fruit. Guy #1 fell over, knocking Samus and the basket of fruit on the ground as well. One of the people from the town (I'll call him Guy #2) noticed them and said "It's them!" He went over to them, and Samus looked shocked; I thought she was shocked because Guy #2 looked like a monster, but instead she just said "It's you!" because she knew him.

So Guy #2, who apparently was a friend of Samus and Guy #1 and was only pretending to be a monster, led both of them into his shop. After randomly criticizing Samus's Zero Suit, he told her that there was something hidden in a water-filled tunnel in one wall of his shop. So Samus took a deep breath and swam through the tunnel to the other side. Once on the other side, she suddenly had her Power Suit and wandered around the place, where there were platforms, alligator monsters, sparking balls, and a pool of water. Then I woke up.

There were a few short parts of the dream too but they weren't very interesting.
Sounds like a very interesting dream. o_O

I had an interesting one myself last night. I realized I had the ability to fly, and remember traveling to different places, including over the ocean. Over the water, I noticed giant whales, who would splash water and fish at me as I passed over, lol. I also went down to the water's surface, and acted like I was water-skiing. Strange but pretty cool; it was so real, and I could feel everything, including the mist from the ocean.

Been working on a Python script for Blender since last week. I love working with the language, but am held up with trying to figure out an issue that is not well documented. =/

It is a strange name for a scripting language, I'll admit. =P

That's pretty cool you've had dreams like that as well. It's been years since I've had a dream about flying, but they're almost always so real when I do have them.

My mom's side of the family are all from the UK, and there's quite a bit of information available there. There were censuses held in the UK every 10 years from 1841, so that's been quite useful in putting together information from my great-grandparents' generation and back - all of my grandparents are dead, so my mom is only resource I have in that regard.

The census records can be viewed through ancestry.com, although it's a little weird as sometimes they'll show the whole record and other times they say that you have to pay to view it, and it seems a little random as to what they let you see - one member of a household might be visible but another not. So the information is all there, but it ca involve putting together various separate pieces.

My dad's family is all from South Africa, which is where it gets trickier. Not so much for my grandmother, as there's a cousin who's done a lot of work there, but I don't know of anyone who's done something similar for grandfather. He wasn't originally from Cape Town, so that does make looking for physical records more complicated, although the town he was born in is only about an hour away (if that), so visiting there isn't a major endeavour if I ever feel that way inclined.

But for now, researching my mom's family is keeping me busy enough. The past few nights it's been a case of "let me just look up one thing before I go to bed", and two hours later I'm still at it.
I don’t want to pay for ancestry membership because it’s too expensive. But I just got to do some research at a library and archive and used their subscription. Today, I just discovered that some family was born in England. ^_^ I was sort of surprised. There was a census from England with the info and I didnt even know that was avaliable to find here in the US.
You may have already looked into it, but perhaps you can see if there are any options like that with public access to those databases through libraries or archives. I think laws are different in each country so I dont know how South Africa differs from the US.

Still havent seen Lord of the Rings lol
