aristole said something like... vice is when a virtue goes too far one way or the other. usually balance makes a lot of sense.

I think reality is even more complex because God said:

2Cor 12:9 (YLT)
and He said to me, `Sufficient for thee is My grace, for My power in infirmity is perfected;' most gladly, therefore, will I rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of the Christ may rest on me:

life and our experience of it becomes hard to measure since we are living it discursively. being honest seems great, even if I loved my body I sure would not want it for very long. bodies such as this are meant to fall apart and perish. one time recently I was told that God could even make my pathetic body beautiful, I suppose due to who would be living in it. so our ugliness for being mere humans can't last forever since Jesus saved us from such cruelties.

ever since I was a baby Christian I was told to make my soul beautiful for God because that kind of beauty is lasting. it would seem good to work through everything and come to an understanding and find peace.

Indeed. I believe balance is the best option in basically everything. Sometimes I would consider one extreme to be more or less evil than its opposite rather than equal, but overall, I know neither extreme would be healthy for the soul.

That's an interesting thought.
I was always taught that it's pride to see you as something other than you are--either thinking of yourself more highly than what you are, or more lowly. When you utterly reject anything good you've done or anything good about you, that's false humility, which is a form of pride. Humility is to see yourself exactly as you are and to not boast or brag or self-deprecate.

Had a busy week, and stayed up exceptionally late last night to post an update for the community. So I guess I'll catch up on some well-deserved Zs today.
