Just making convo, but, decided to check out this relatively tame 80's slasher film that actually had Tom Hanks in it, about a disgruntled former groom who goes on the rampage against poor innocent brides-to-be as revenge for his once having been abandoned at the altar or something, called He Knows You're Alone. I enjoyed the Cinema Snob's making fun of it a few years ago, so I thought I'd try to check it out, as it honestly looked like a decent film anyway, and it just so happened to be readily available in full on YT.

Apparently Tom Hanks' character was supposed to be one of the victims at first in the script, but being such an all-around likeable person IRL and playing a nice character who you don't want to see get the ax, the writers decided that he needed to survive, instead. ^-^

Well, I did say the movie seems pretty tame for the slasher genre, but still, I would not wish to disturb either of you ladies' sensibilities in having you watch it without due warning. ^-^


(... Awww ... the nice old man who was fitting the main character in her wedding dress just got killed ... with the girl unsuspecting at the other end of the store! She even said goodbye so sweetly and everything and just walked out the front, none the wiser. )

I guess not being a woman myself (although I still get mistaken for one over the phone sometimes ), I just can't help but be unable to see how a shoe of that design could possibly ever not put a ridiculous amount of strain on your legs.

Interestingly, Paul Gleason is playing a seemingly competent and concerned cop investigating the murders in this film. A different role from what I am accustomed to seeing, with his being the "villainous" principal from The Breakfast Club and the constantly complaining police chief in Die Hard.

Oh, no, the main character Amy is preparing for her wedding right now and struggling with occasional doubts over whether she should go through with it. Apparently the killer is someone who was stood up by an entirely different person in the past, and he now lives to make all girls in Amy's position - who so much as just feel doubt over whether to go through with getting married - pay for his suffering.

EDIT: 'Think I misunderstood where your question was coming from, Bella. Yes, he was stood up by someone, but just not the main character of the movie, Amy. ^-^


Also a rather pleasant surprise - I don't think I have even heard any swearing at all so far in the first forty minutes of this thing. I really can't stand how so many movies - especially in the present day - have to rely on fifty f-bombs and instances of taking the Lord's name in vain in the first act like that's the only way the writers think they can have their characters in desperate/dramatic situations properly convey emotion. =/

Heels come in different heights. Kitten heels were the norm in the past. You don't need to wear stilettos.

It hasn't come up yet in the movie as I am watching it, but in the Cinema Snob's review he used the main theme from it to punctuate the credits to his video and all. It seems pretty nice and mellow.

More of my play-by-play of this film:

An hour in and Tom Hanks' character finally shows up. He's a fellow jogger that one of Amy's college friends gets a crush on just by seeing him jogging along with her sometimes even though they never come close enough to each other to actually talk .... and he pretends to be hurt on the side of the road seeing her coming one day, like he sprained his ankle or whatever, in order to have her stop and show concern for his injury so that he can finally meet her.


Come on, man. Even I am less obvious than that when trying to find an excuse to finally meet a girl I saw and thought was cute.

Actually so turned off by seeing rampant profanity in books I read that I just white them out, if they are otherwise good reads. Doing that right now with my current read, actually: Toy Soldiers. (The movie was classic. )
