Brother tested positive for COVID-19, and I was at his house the day before he was diagnosed. I had no idea until after I had gone into work. I told my manager and they didn’t send me home. I have asthmatic tendencies (never been diagnosed) and I am feeling anxious. I took my temperature when I got home, and it was in then 97s, and when I took it later on, it was in the 98s. Prayers would be appreciated.

I'm sorry you were exposed to the virus. I'm praying on your behalf and entrusting your welfare and recovery (if needed) to Him. Please keep us updated on your condition.

Congrats! The alto sax is nice. I played it the alto clarinet for a bit before switching to the clarinet. I know you'll enjoy it! And you'll do fine.

You're very gifted musically. Oftentimes it goes beyond one discipline. I like the piano and violin. The harp is tempting but I don't think I'll have time. I sing too and that's my passion.

Saxophone update: It arrived today. I went with soprano instead of alto.

Alto was mainly suggested as an easier horn to start with. Considering that I'm learning for myself, already have a musical background, and was looking for a challenge, I took the plunge and got what I really wanted. I'm glad I did. That usually ends up working better for me, and I'll be more motivated to practice.

Out of the box, I was able to get a reasonably decent tone and play a scale. Not bad for a horn with such a reputation of being a beast to play. Although I'm far from proficient at it, the fact that I can get more than squeaks and honks on the first day is encouraging. Next, I will need to figure out what the other keys do. There are so many. lol

Even though 2020 has probably been one of the toughest years of my life, it also brought immense learning and pivotal experience!

Saxophone update: It arrived today. I went with soprano instead of alto.

I like the soprano for you for all the reasons you shared and the fact that it fits. I envision you playing a sax. You have the patience and vibe to do well. Yep, I said vibe. You can’t play the sax without being chill.

Have fun! I’m sure you’ll make leaps and bounds by year’s end.

Update: I woke up with a slight headache, runny nose, some drainage. Took some Tylenol, D3 and C supplements, and Zyrtec. I can still smell, though that’s somewhat disrupted by the stuffiness. Not entirely sure if the shortness of breath is like how it usually is, if it’s just my being anxious, lack of singulair, etc. Temperature has been in the range of 97s to 98. I cannot go back into work until I’ve tested negative for COVID-19, and it’s never fun to be stuck inside the house. I often find myself laying around all day on my phone, reading the Word and eating being the exceptions.

2020 turned out to be what people thought 2012 would be like.

I don't remember much of 2012 - everything before 2013 looks a bit grainy and black and white. And anything before 2015 has that 70s beige vibe about it. I didn't 'colour my mind' fully until after 25.

Makes sense, they say that life before faith looks a bit dull in retrospect. It took a couple of years to hit properly.

I went and took a rapid test, came back negative. Will have a RNA test results later this week. Work said I could come back, quick I find questionable. I’ve taken a number of pills (Zyrtec, steroids, C, D3, and zinc supplements), and I had my singulair pills refilled. Overall Im feeling pretty good, temperature is still in the 97/98 range. My brother seems to be getting a bit worse as he has lost his sense of smell. I appreciate all of your prayers, and I’d also appreciate it if y’all would pray for him, his girlfriend and his biological sisters (he is adopted) that he lives with, and his niece, as they see him every day or almost every day.
