  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Ha ha, you know Yah is at work when you have conditions that prohibit you from even stepping in a place where liquor is sold and the powers that be give the go ahead to work in a bar.

A table before me...

Our group finished writing another paper last week. Looks like another one may be in the works, focused on evaluating a widget I've been working on. One of our studies can probably be conducted remotely, with people staying in their own homes, but how well that will work remains to be seen.

Who knows, I might be able to incorporate some of what I'm working on into an animatronic project I've been thinking about. That would be fun. Maybe make a character that plays a sequencer, or at least appear to play it. If it pans out, it might be fun to include in a YouTube channel. I'm still playing around with the idea of performing incognito, kind of like Daft Punk or TWRP. Maybe with an animatronic backup band? It's relatively low on my list of priorities, but fun to think about. Alas, I'm just one guy and there are only 24 hours in a day.

Nevertheless, it feels good to be uploading new art again. Sometimes, I think that would be my focus if I didn't have other responsibilities.

For exercise, I've been mountain biking in the woods near my house. The trails deer trails rather than official mtb trails, so there's a little hiking and carrying the bike across creeks involved, but it's good exercise either way. I only encountered 1 couple this afternoon, and a woman walking her dog the other day. For social distancing, I just ride off the trail. It's not like I can even see the trail very well anyway, as it's covered with leaves.

Thanksgiving will be odd this year. I'm planning a traditional thanksgiving meal for one, at home, but with my family in spirit.

@Miles
Huh, your post made me think about a thread event idea...

A CF talent show!
That can work. We've had similar threads in the past, with people showing things they made, etc.

I'm not sure what I'd share though, as I just have lots of hobbies. Also, I'm a little hesitant about worlds colliding with Google image search and whatnot. Not that I'm under the illusion that things are truly anonymous on an internet forum, but I'll take what I can get for now.

I can usually get myself to concentrate hard enough to stop the hiccups and it works.. takes some energy though. Seems to be working thus far..

Although in the back of my mind.. I always go back to watching TV and hearing about this story of a guy having hiccups for like 20 years and wondering if that will happen to me.. lol.

I've heard that being startled, or scared like with a jump scare, can help hiccups go away. That always seemed impractical to me, and a little far-fetched, but it might be worth trying.
