Attended a single Bible study ministry last night at one of the churches I attend. There were a few hundred people there and all were friendly. Not sure if I will continue to go but, may do so. Wish it was closer. It was worth going vs doing my own thing.

dang it, no systema this week, teacher is away getting re-certified up in Toronto HQ, going to have to double up on my training routine this week to make up for it. Don't suppose anyone here is up for a little striking, huh?

Have you heard of people in your field that hire trainers to train individual parts of the art? Like for instance, in MMA, they'll have one person train them on kicking, another one on fist striking, and another for other things as well etc.

yeah, but it's not needed in systema since it is a complete art. Although it is nice to spar with people from different disciplines. We get people from a mix of different backgrounds that come to class. some military, some police, some boxers, wrestlers, muay thai, juijitsu, had an aikido guy come in once, even some kyushu. In systema, it's all about the drills. example would be a drill we had last week when one person would wrap his arms around you from behind to lock you in while you had to fend off 2 other guys. It forces you to learn how to deal proper strikes even when handicapped, that's not something you can learn from other arts or if I tried to apply something from another art into a situation like that, it will most likely not work, since I would need a stance or certain delivery system or conditioning that is not compatible with being held down.

In short, I just need someone to spar with...sad face

After burning the midnight oil to complete a 2500-word paper yesterday, I'm not surprised, Kitty.

And you remember being in high school driving to the CD store right after class when the store opened to buy it......

Ah dang... now I just thought about the fact Im so old that soon I will say "CD store" and it will be like Im speaking Greek.

IM OLD!!!!!!! Oh well, at least that explains why things start hurting all of a sudden and for no reason.
