I have worked retail a lot (am now, sadly), and it makes me want to throw away all my possessions and live in a cabin in the mountains, when I see customers come through several times a week, looking like zombies through the merchandise that I know they don’t need, deciding what things they’re going to take home today, just because it’s there and they can.
We have too much junk. And it’s ruining us.

But I guess neither would I. I worked at an overpriced college bookstore (all college bookstores are overpriced because the books are overpriced to start) and I was like... I'd never pay these prices... when people freaked out about the prices I was like... yeah... "try the library over there, that's where I got this textbook last semester".
But... I kinda love helping people. So customer service is okay with me. As long as no one is mad....

Which reminds me that I have a new French press waiting for me at home, along with a few bags of specialty coffee beans that were a gift from a coworker. Real coffee, unlike the K-Cups we have here, but they're pretty good and I'm not picky.
