Boy... My mind can sure fall into some unsettling cycles of thought these days. If I could go back a year or two, I would have been surprised at what I’d be wrestling with now. I don't even know what to do about it, or even what to think anymore. I wish I had a different personality. I wish could look ahead a year and find out what I'll be thinking about next.

Was most rudely awakened this morning by the loudest crash of thunder ever, about 6:30 am. Scared the you know what out of me. The dog, Tallulah, was actually sleeping on my bed, too, last night, as I stay up very late now and my mother is like, "can you keep her in the den with you so I finally get a decent night's sleep before work without her laying all over me?" And I think Tallulah had a mild heart attack. Had to keep petting her and calming her down with words for a bit. Even in the relative dark you could tell her eyes were wide with fear like she was in the woods of a slasher film and just heard a rustling in the bushes a few yards away.

.... And then after that it was total silence. No rain, no rumble of thunder in the distance, nothing. I'm not even sure it had been raining beforehand. The thundercrash seemed totally isolated, out of nowhere. .... Might have been a not-so-subtle reminder from God to the people of Houston that He is still around and is the Man in charge. You know, just to keep us on our toes in case we start drifting away. O_O

I regret trimming my beard for my upcoming job interview, it looked better before IMO.
