Well then, this is certainly a pity. My last day of work just now was in fact the last time I will ever work with my current counterpart Miss Mary. You know, Miss
@TheLastGeek , the one who kind of had me speechless for a bit one time a few months ago the way she started brushing her hair as we were conversing. ^-^
I struggled briefly with physical attraction to her some time ago, but overall she was just like a friend and sister to me who I was happy to have around and work with every day. But now, she has gone on to be one of the chemists, no longer a lab tech like me, so I will no longer work directly with her and will only see her around on weekday day shifts (who wouldn't jump at the chance to move from a rotating 12-hour shift schedule to the standard 8 to 5, Monday through Friday schedule, right?).
Having come into this job with a four-year degree in chemistry (most of us who are lab techs only have a minor, or a four-year degree in a different science), she's moved on from our riff-raff crowd, and who can blame her?
The person who will be replacing her come December is a bit more ... outspoken, shall we say, but seems enthused about getting to join the D crew (where I am at), of all four possible crews who make up the lab tech staff. She said pretty bluntly the other day that she did not want to wind up anywhere else. Also I've noticed she bears a resemblance to Jennifer Carpenter, an actress I favor due to her remarkable performance as the titular character in
The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and her voicing one of my favorite characters in video games, Detective Juli Kidman in
The Evil Within.
