If you can, get outside and go for a walk. I try to walk a mile every evening and it really does make a difference in helping me sleep. Not saying you'll pass out for 8 solid hours (that's NEVER happened to me lol), but it does help. It's nearly 3:00 AM and I can't sleep. I hate this.
You should dig a hole in your living room. Year-round pool!I love to swim. LOVE to swim. The only swimming opportunity I have is a small lake nearby that is very popular and often crowded, which is appalling to my introverted personality. But the whole summer has gone by without me even attempting to swim, and today is the last day of the year that the lake is open for swimmers. I know my only chance to get there when it's quiet and empty is to go first thing in the morning, but the thought of going through all the rituals of a swim - putting on the bathing suit, finding a beach towel, putting on sunscreen, digging up my swim shoes - is not appealing to me when I'm just waking up, lol. But the thought of going the whole year without at least ONE dip in the lake was ultimately unacceptable to me! So I went this morning. It wasn't completely peaceful and quiet; there were guys cutting down trees next door, people fishing next to the parking area, a canoe came by while I was in the water, and a mom and two screaming, happy kids showed up. But I still enjoyed my swim, and I'm glad I went. I wish so deeply that I lived near a quiet body of water where I could just swim anytime I want.

I said these exact words to myself earlier this evening, lol. This Labor Day weekend went by fast.
At least it's a short work week.
Yes! It totally feels like these three days were like a hiccup haha.I said these exact words to myself earlier this evening, lol
Just thinking about all you wonderful people, wishing you the best!
I give panhandlers food or water, and will talk to them for a few minutes if I can, to give them some humanity and company. Many of them are frauds, it's true. Many others are addicts, which is why I never give cash. If anyone gives me the "my car broke down" story, I don't give them anything. I also rebuke men who approach me as a woman who is alone; a man with honor would approach other men or people in groups, not solitary women.I was in the parking lot & a beggar asked for money. I've always been taught not to, that people have places to go for resources, but I gave him some anyways, it was only $30 & I told him I've been richly blessed. If he uses it for bad habits, maybe someday it'll hit him. Don't I have bad habits myself b/c what God has given me intended for good, & I am trying to fight them!
I regret not having encouraged him in some way. I just was wanting it to be done, not have it be a small fortune, & not take up any more time than giving.
You do it right. I’m still learning how to do it, learning how to want to do it.. In the past I wouldn’t do anything.I give panhandlers food or water, and will talk to them for a few minutes if I can, to give them some humanity and company. Many of them are frauds, it's true. Don't be too hard on yourself
Amen!Pray for a Revival!

God's got it all in handI have an interview tomorrow. What employer would hire someone who's not only unavailable Saturdays but will also need a couple of days off in a few weeks for YK?
That's why I offer non-cash items. If they're TRULY homeless and penniless, they need food, water, clothes, shelter. Not cash. Some people do choose to live homeless; that's their right.I've seen a couple of panhandlers lately where I live.
It's a tough inner battle. Should I give them money or not? Are they telling the truth?
It's hard to discern because we don't know if they're telling the truth or not.
