  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Kiki’s kindness and sincerity were one of a kind. She had a tender heart. Thank you for thinking of me. :)
The movie reminds me of gentler, better days ***sigh***

Ending a friendship with someone is never easy, especially when you have known that person for 22 years. But sometimes, for your mental health, you just have to do what you have to do. Live, learn, and grow!

So they took us to Catholic mass on Palm Sunday. Some things didn't sit right w/ me but it was fine.
I've had good experiences with the Catholic services that I've attended. Being there with a Catholic friend probably helped. This is coming from somebody who was raised in a non-denominational church, and mostly attended a Calvary Chapel while in college. I also have Quaker leanings, and tend to score high in the Orthodox category when it comes to "which denomination are you" quizzes. Those of us who are part of the catholic (little C) church have a lot in common, despite what some would lead us to believe.

Oddly, I felt most out of place at a Lutheran service. Maybe the issue was the dynamic of that particular congregation. It wasn't the liturgy, which I find that I can appreciate despite also feeling at home in unprogrammed services, but something did feel off.
