For those who may have lost all of their grandparents by this time, perhaps it would lift their spirits to share the last good memory they have of any of their grandparents, especially the last surviving one?

The last moment I remember spending with my fourth and final grandparent - my paternal grandmother - is of just sitting down and talking with her while she rested one day shortly before Christmas and the rest of the family was out Christmas shopping or something, and we had Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever playing in the background, sort of on and off paying attention to it. Just found it channel surfing beforehand and on a whim let it play out before resuming philosophical conversation with my grandmother. She was not Internet savvy, having grown up well before the current digital age, so of course she had no idea this was a YouTube star who somehow had a movie made based around her, but she thought it was amusing enough.

All of my grandparents are long gone and I pray for their peaceful repose daily (I am Catholic).

My last memory of my maternal grandmother was eating Christmas supper with her at the nursing home. I did not see her for three months until her death because I was in college and didn't drive. I remember her rambling about HS and other random memories she had when I visited her at the nursing home. Her mind was going at that time.

We let the kids who came early start hunting for eggs right away,and of course since it wasnt monitered the kids cleaned out those eggs(all 10,000 of them within an hlf hr.The kids who came later barely found any but we did end up hiding some more for them.

That's such a sweet idea! And sounds like you shared a very special moment with your grandmother.

Unfortunately, my last memories with my paternal grandmother were not the best and leaves me with regret, although I do have a few good memories with her in my early childhood. Whenever I'd stumble or fall she'd ask "did you catch a mousey?" I always loved when she said that, haha! My last memories of both my great-grandmothers, my great-grandfather, and my great-great-grandmother were much sweeter.

This is the one year where I actually focused more on the importance of Easter Saturday. It's often overlooked, which I actually think is a bit of a mistake. The state of just "being" and removing all distractions is to acknowledge His absence for that one day, and what He was actually doing.

Jesus actually spoke His loudest when He said nothing at all, as it raises all sorts of questions. Where was He? What was He doing? What was He enduring? Was God still with Him?

1 Peter 3:18-20 is an interesting verse to ponder regarding Holy Saturday IMO.

You’re welcome. It would take more than $5K to put away a year of food with a freezer here and the average size is too small and most can’t fork over $3K+ to buy a cow.

The hikes are a gimmick and meant to hit the ceiling. No one who can buy in bulk is dealing with retail.

I will write a few words about my fast and how it goes. I will send a private message in a few days.
