It's been a little rough for me lately. Have been having some difficulty keeping my emotions in line and feel like I have been having a really bad attitude lately. Hopefully I'll get back on track, but it's been an emotional rollercoaster. lol

Watching some old Vincent Price movie I'd never heard of before called The Monster Club. Perfect pastime to enjoy some milk and cookies to before bed. ^_^

Gratitude journals are a useful anecdote. They direct your attention to every day blessings that inspire thankfulness.

Huge relief for me tonight! An article I thought was several days overdue isn't actually supposed to be turned in until Wednesday! Woohoo! :hoho:

Thank you! I often think I would like to start a journal again, but I am so terrible at sticking to them. I keep thinking about it though. I have an empty journal that I keep looking at that I want to start using. I have some surrender cards that I go through sometimes which has helped give me good reminders. I haven't had any alone time lately, which I think has been unhealthy for me. I think quiet time must be pretty important. :)

I wish Hell wasn't forever and that everyone could be forgiven by God and be saved and go to Heaven. :(:(:(:(
I'm not convinced hell is eternal. Revelation (& Jesus in the Gospels) say where the damned souls are, it's thrown into the lake of fire that burns eternal. My interpretation of this is the lake of fire burns eternal, not the souls. I could be wrong about my interpretation about this, but the Jews didn't even have a concept of hell till Jesus, so I think our understanding of hell ballooned from what Jesus & the first Christians taught. I definitely do believe there is a hell tho & God ultimately judges the wicked, just not sure that judgement is eternal.

I'm afraid I'm going to go to Hell for things I've done. I'm sad and scared. :(:(:(:(

Miss Lion, I pray that the thought and worry of hell is not weighing so heavily upon you that you are on the verge of undergoing the same mental disease of Scrupulosity, that I myself did for a hellish eight months once several years ago. :(

My interpretation of this is the lake of fire burns eternal, not the souls

That's because that's precisely what Scripture says. Only that the fire is eternal, but nothing that the human soul is immortal or preserved within. ... In fact, there's at least two verses I can think of just off the top of my head that say the exact opposite about the soul - that it is subject to destruction and death. There's no good reason other than traditional teaching for me to believe that such terms in the Bible as death and destroy actually mean immortality and preservation with ever being consumed in the fire.

More than enough of a reason for me to choose belief in Christ over going my own way, regardless. But ultimately, I am led to and hang onto faith by the Lord's lovingkindness, not out of fear.

.... The only thing I fear is the scenario ever happening in which I will die one day and never awaken back to life again, finding out that a God and a Christ never truly existed and could never resurrect me and grant me forgiveness of my sins.

38And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 10:38-39

I feel like these verses are not talked about enough. Do these verses mean that we need to die for Jesus to be saved?
