I prefer listening to albums vs individual songs. Lyricists who can create a seamless, unique story, and musicians who can add emotional tides to that story really win me over.

Another amazing concept album (although significantly of a different dimension of music) : Fall of Therenia by Aspherium. I have never felt so many different emotions in a single movement.

Stories are my thing, so I understand. Sometimes music can tell a story better than plain ol' words.

Gotta admit, as mean of me as this will sound, I am a little relieved to see them gone after that last argument, for at least a while. Honestly, it was getting annoying seeing his macho-acting or preachy tantrums and her defending it just because. And, well, constantly bringing up your relationship and how great it is in some way or another in a community full of single people, some of whom are feeling the pain of loneliness and not having anyone to love in their own lives (often for a very long period of time by that point) more acutely than others, is really kind of like filming an episode of Epic Meal Time before a live audience of starving third-world children.

I mean, for me, the date I may likely have this weekend with admittedly the cutest darned girl in all of Houston will actually be my first in thirty years of life. As fortunate as I am now for it, some of us guys and girls just aren't very privileged when it comes to being in relationship after relationship and generally getting along so well romantically with the opposite gender. And I for one know that if somehow Marina and I end up together as a couple after so many dates in the near or far future, I won't keep coming back here to reveal to the rest of you who may still be single (and hurting because of it in some cases) how great it is to have a girlfriend all the time, you know?

I had a thought just come to me that's worthy of thinking about. Have I progressed to maturity enough that would be required to be in a relationship (much more marriage)? If I had to do an honest inventory, I would have to say no. Though, I'm catching myself on certain things. It's like how we're supposed to take up our cross and die. Or stop being a child and grow up. I think I have something to ask the married people at this point. Hmm

Allstar MLB pitchers are incredible talents. I would love to see autobiographical works of such greats as Greg Maddux, Nolan Rylan, etc. If not autobiographies, at least a book on baseball.

Baseball history is quite interesting. I was just reading about a crazy game with my dad the other day. In 1974 (Red Sox vs Angels). Nolan Ryan pitched 13 innings! He struck out Cecil Cooper ( the Sox first baseman ) 6 times. The Angels won it in 15 innings. The crazy thing is that the Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant pitched 14 1/3 innings, lol.

I can't even imagine a starter lasting that many innings.

He struck out Cecil Cooper ( the Sox first baseman ) 6 times. The Angels won it in 15 innings. The crazy thing is that the Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant pitched 14 1/3 innings, lol.

I can't even imagine a starter lasting that many innings.

Wow. How I wish the MLB would release classic games like that in their entirety for us to watch and appreciate.

Yeah, I think they're often two sides of the same coin.

Sadly depression has ruined much of my life. I hardly truly enjoy anything anymore.

We're a social species, to be cut out of being able to feel empathetic towards others really messes with your mind.

Sadly I think depression is useful in an evolutionary sense. Those who tend to feel it are those who are usually not worthy in procreating. So the isolation and withdraw from social life makes sense.

I'm Situational Depression.

The fact that I have a disability, been mistreated so much in life, have very few friends in real life, having my health declining, living in a crapsack town, among other things in life.

My mother still believes it's a chemical imbalance and wants me to take more pills. At one point in my life my mother would keep putting me on more and more pills that would drop Elvis if she had the chance.

I wouldn't be so depressed if I didn't live in a world full of sociopaths, sadists, and narcissists.

Yeah, I don't know if there's anything that can beat Van Halen's Eruption

Eruption is good, I won't dispute that, but I prefer melody and feeling to displays of technical virtuosity, which is why I would always pick Comfortably Numb. It still gives me goosebumps, even though I've heard it so many times.
