  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'll take your advice. Time to lay down in bed and listen to some music. Maybe even talk to God about this.

Thank you all for your patience.

I've been where you are, and what you're about to do works 100% of the time. Autism is a beautiful thing provided that you're the one in the driving seat. Otherwise, it'll be the one driving YOU.

Well said Saucy. It's really hard to near impossible when you are Depressed to see that it is all in your mind, but that's ultimately true, the battle is completely in your mind. That doesn't mean it's not real, I had Depression in high school and spent a good portion of it in psychosis, and to this day struggle with severe anxiety that's almost debilitating and prevents me from functioning at times. There's no shame in seeking help if you need it, sometimes that's the best thing for you, and personally I'm so glad that I realized that while I still could in high school.

Everyone has their own struggles and their own battles, and I believe that is one of the things that ultimately makes us unique are the challenges that we overcome. Yes, sometimes the uphill battles are mountains and the downhills are cliffs, but God will never give you more than you can actually handle, you may just have to learn how to overcome it. Our choices and reactions to the hardships make all of the difference.
I agree 100%. In the moment, it's horrible. But you learn to overcome these things. I woke up the other night having a full blown panic attack. I used to get them real bad, but they have become fewer and far between over the last year.

But this time, I knew everything was fine. So I sat there and told myself that I was fine, I'm just having a panic attack, and soon it all dissipated. That's why I say it's a battle with our mind. When you can step out of the moment, calm yourself down, KNOW for a fact that everything is fine despite what you're FEELING, you can start to control your thoughts.

Getting rid of sugars and stuff from your diet, eating better, getting more exercise, etc, all impacts your brain chemistry for the better. It releases more of the feel good chemicals, verses the nasty ones that can be caused by the wrong diet or not getting enough exercise. I'd always go for walks and feel like a million bucks.

I think a panic attack is quite literally the number ONE worst feeling that you can experience without dying.

I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

That's a great observation. I think that feeling crummy physically or a poor diet can really affect your mood. I agree that walks and jogs are great for clearing your mind. I'm really happy to hear about all the positive changes in your life. Let's hope this is a great year for everyone here in Singles.

Now, if we could just do something about this disaster of a game...

I just wonder how real many people on this forum's faith would be if they were stripped of all their desirable qualities and life privileges and forced to live a life like mine. Would their faith be as strong then?

I see too many fakers in this religion. You have all these millionaire preachers with their ten million dollar homes, gold plated Lamborghini's, private jets ready to fly to Tahiti, and high status/popularity in their churches and genuinely believe that they served God with great faith. It's easy to have faith in God when you have $25,000 in the bank but how strong would that faith be if you're $25,000 in debt and have angry creditors coming after you?

I know for a fact that many on this forum would consider my faith 'weak' but truth is, I'm just being honest. On the other subforums you have Christians threatening to leave the religion because life was not the grand adventure they thought it would be. There are people in the world getting killed for their faith and people just leave Jesus out of personal convenience. Furthermore, there are many Christians who say we are perfect in weakness but then turn around and honor the strong: the talented musician, the charismatic preacher, the rich tither and whatever celebrity who comes to church ready to be converted. It's hypocrisy that only I seem to be aware of.

I often question if Christians even believe what Jesus taught. They use their God given talents to live their own lives for their own benefit while I tried to invest what little God gave me to make other lives better. Guess who gets treated like an actual person and who doesn't? Other Christians actually get to live life. I only get to survive it.

God added diversity to a world that cannot handle diversity. Even among Christians people look at each other either in pride or envy. I'm on disability pension from the government and conservative Christians from the States give me crap for accepting help from the government. Other church goers are unwilling to be help me out so who do I have to rely on for support? These people seem to care more about their own wealth than the life of another person. One of these days God is going to tell them, "To Hell with your culture, what have you done to advance my Kingdom's ideals?"

Very, very few of you can understand my frustrations. Go ahead, just shy away from me for my anger instead of welcoming the stranger. I am a stranger in a strange land that fears differences. It's human nature. It's why I cannot put my trust in humanity but in God instead. I'm tired of all this world's politics and I feel no need to help a world that regards me as an abomination anymore.

I'm done with this philanthropy ministry.

You're absolutely right and it's why I didn't want to have anything to do with Christianity for a very long time.

I wouldn't wish it on you, it's not a very nice experience. Particularly when you've got several hundred cows to think about.

My day got better, I manged to lose my phone out of the tractor and then scrape it into the lagoon.

Oh, wait, that's not better...

It doesn't matter, I didn't like the phone anyway.

Hey... that's a creative (drastic) way of getting a new phone :p

@Wayholka

I think you're more frustrated with the type of lives Christians live, and angry/confused by the idea that some people can live rather comfortable lives, while people like me and you suffer immensely, like we're in the middle of an ocean in a storm that constantly dunks our heads under water, with short breaks only to have a bigger wave crash us further down.

Then we beat ourselves up and think it must be something we're doing wrong, because how could God allow it when we give him our all?
But there's something we both don't realize enough I think. We do give God our all. Do you think for one second God looks down and looks at a person who gives God their all and says "No, I reject you"? Or do you think he puts his devoted ones through endless amount of sufferings, only to have their sufferings be in vain?

No, I believe we get what we put in and 10fold more because God is gracious beyond all understanding. So if we're receiving this cup, it's not the cup that we're receiving that is the problem, it's our way of viewing what the cup means.
God promises huge things to those who love him. Why be bothered by people who only give their half to God, or by people who say they give to God but really they don't give almost anything? We're to pity them that they don't have great things in store in their future and their afterlife (even if they are saved, they will lose reward).

And when I say great things in our future, I'm not talking about worldly things. I'm talking about seeds that we will plant in people's live, things that will stretch on to eternity. I'm talking about change we can bring to individuals, love we can share with them, and being lights in a dark world.

I really can't say to you that things will get easier. I have no idea. Like, it's definitely gotten easier for me in certain ways, but in other ways it's become more challenging. Suffering is a strange thing. But will it be worth it? 100% sure yes.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Another verse I think is relative to consider is this:
Proverbs 27:20
Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

I say that because it's something I've been learning too. Nobody has the "good life" we're trying to be sold, it's an illusion - man's eyes are never satisfied. Never. So even when your suffering is lessened, there will still be a desire for even less suffering and even more happiness. We'll always look at the negatives instead of looking at the positives around us. It's human nature.
Not saying that in judgement or condemnation or anything even remotely close, saying that because a part of my suffering lately has been my desire to always have things better, and I found this verse is helping with that.

Come on Steelers.
Honestly..... in order for the SB to make me even mildly curious they will have to lose.

I can sort of root against the Pats. I don't have any hate for the Steelers. Only mild annoyance at the Pats. (cause they are good..... not cause I like to cry "cheaters!" like so many do. :| )
