  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Settin her watching a Jack White video, man this guy is a freak, I cant stop watching.

Peace out!

Wow. That takes me back...

It was the mean streets of Missouri. A pastor leading a group of Baptist missionaries went rogue and lost his mind. Every night, when the black people would begin their evening dances in the streets, these rogue missionaries, well, they just couldn't contain themselves. They set fire to everything. Pretty soon, neighborhood pets started disappearing. Hamsters, cats, squirrels even. These people had lost their humanity. When we finally put him down, he kept rambling on about something. "The humor.. the humor" I'd heard him say, which was odd, because he obviously had trouble comprehending the concept. Too much antifreeze, I'd suppose. It tends to rot away at the brain.

I am considering in creating blog entries on my blog here. It is always a desire of mine to share what I learn from the Word and God's guidance, and applying it to my everyday life.

Nice idea :)

I thought recently about starting a blog as well, for wisdom I've learnt in my faith, but also things like photography, travel, recipes, music etc.

But not through CF, I would use another engine

When you see someone write "your an idiot" and resist the urge to correct their grammar and risk angering them further lol.

I'd do it. I wouldn't care.

So I'm kind of thinking about stuff lately.

People call Millennial's "Generation Snowflake" because of how soft and thin skinned we are compared to previous generations. I look at all these articles and then read the comment sections to see all sorts of venom being spewed out by people who think they're part of the GI Generation. I know because of my textbook Asperger's Syndrome, hereditary anxiety issues, and depression I definitely qualify for being part of this 'Generation Snowflake' stereotype even though my mother raised me old school.

Then I read studies that state that since 2000, empathy is going down while narcissism is going up. Young people are a lot more abusive to one another for the sake of their own image as you can clearly see on the comments section on every website that encourages debate.

So which is it? Are we getting too soft or are we getting too abusive to each other?

All the more reason to do so......

They want to belittle someone and call others an idiot....... why not make them realize it takes one to know one? :D

I think it's possible that people can seem to be able to dish it out more than they can take it. I have no idea why it's happening on a large scale though. Maybe it's internet culture. Sometimes I suspect the educational system, and ideologies that are encouraging it. Maybe both.

It's the entire world, actually. Even Jesus told and foretold about this darkness and it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

When you look at 2 Timothy 3:1-7, you'll find that it boils down to narcissism which is becoming more and more prevalent thanks to things like social media. Before the internet, it took actual talent to become famous. Nowadays, all you need to do is know what people want to see and then make a fool out of yourself. It worked for people like Chris Crocker.

Yep, that's certainly part of it. Anger is a most difficult emotion to tame.
Thank God (yes, literally) that we have Him who love us so much that He gave His only Son to die in our place in order for those who believe in Him shall be forgiven and not perish.

My father is narcissistic. Very difficult to live with. :(

No kidding. I just want to lose all this anger and just find happiness in being with other people.

Amen. Everyone has failed everyone else. You can tell by looking at the state of the world.

But narcissism and making a fool out of yourself are like polar opposites lol. Well, if you do it intentionally. I guess some people could look foolish in their narcissism without even trying to play the fool. But, let's not forget that God chose the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.

Attention is attention. Narcissists want to be in the limelight by however they are able to. Elliot Rodger was a full 9-point narcissist who tried to manipulate women into liking him by trying to make them feel sorry for him through internet videos.

Kanye West and Donald Trump are also being narcissists and just look at what they do in order to get around. Not exactly the most sophisticated way of inflating their already inflated egos.

Another thing too is that autistic people do have narcissistic tendencies so that is something I have to watch myself...
