Attention is attention. Narcissists want to be in the limelight by however they are able to. Elliot Rodger was a full 9-point narcissist who tried to manipulate women into liking him by trying to make them feel sorry for him through internet videos.

Kanye West and Donald Trump are also being narcissists and just look at what they do in order to get around. Not exactly the most sophisticated way of inflating their already inflated egos.

I live with a narcissist. They crave attention. It is 90 percent of their ego and they will get it however they can in different forms.

Yeah, I don't agree with the ideology. There comes a point where any influential person in history can be seen as a narcissist. Or worse, any person seeking to communicate with other persons is "seeking attention" and is therefore a potential narcissist. A real narcissist, in my opinion, thinks of themselves so highly that they will assign any blame on their victims that they wish, such that the victim "deserves" whatever treatment they get -- they justify themselves, like any abuser would. Like I was saying earlier, internet culture, and ideologies are encouraging lack of empathy.

Exactly. The internet is the ultimate narcissistic supply because of how easily one can get attention from the entire world. Like I said, no talent required. Just do whatever it takes whether it be showing off your body or making a video of yourself making offensive comments to a particular group of people.

My father is narcissistic. Very difficult to live with.

I'm very sorry my dad also has anger issues that he (or that I can tell) doesnt deal with. Thus, I can't live with him either.

Well, ok. The only problem I have with it, is if I were to put this ideology into practice, then anyone who receives any attention via the internet is a potential narcissist, even if that perceived "ego" is just confidence, or something else entirely. If I were to go on the warpath with that, I could easily fall into the trap of justifying whatever behavior I wish to inflict on said persons, which is, ironically, exactly the problem stemming from narcissism to begin with. If that's the way you want to do it, suit yourself, but, if I may, I find that reflecting behavior (within reasonable limits) is far more effective -- that's not to say a "hit back" mentality is what I aim for, it's that, in judging me, sometimes those judging me come to see themselves. Self-correction is better than a coerced correction, in my view of things.

I'm talking about the kind of anger where I want to get revenge and make lives miserable for my own sadistic amusement instead of continuing to work on making lives better out of love for God.

So yes, I want to ditch the bad anger. It's been eating me up my entire life and I want it to end.

Even though I barely use social media and keep a very small online profile, after moving 4 times in the last 6 years, my online life has remained the most consistent, stable thing in my life, as much as I hate to say it. It sort of makes me wonder if the internet generation is a product of the reality of modern life, moreso than excessive internet use.
