  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

I have been up all too early this morning considering I work at night, all because I needed to find a new dentist in town ever since I moved away from Shreveport, ... but now I am glad I had to endure being awake longer than usual today ... as I picked just the right lady dentist and her entourage of entirely pretty nurses all around my age, it turns out.:D At a place so appropriately entitled Made Ya Smile.

They were all very friendly and welcoming. Sometimes it pays to be in need of a crown. ^_^

I have decided to rename the kids corner in church lambs corner.
If my pastor objects I will take the kids corner sign to the other corner and have the lambs there where the books are and the kids where the toys and loud things are.

Then they can decide what corner they want to be in.

I think I've decided on my day two Comic Con outfit.

Love the idea of Zelda and Link, but so many people that are way better at costuming will do that one. That's why I want unique, because then I'm best in my category by default :)

So day one I had the idea to do a crossplay of Wonder Woman/Jasmine and Batman/Aladdin. Last night I had the idea that it'd be cool to do the same concept with villains and it would tie our costumes together. Plus I love the idea of taking possibly the top two most done costumes and making it unique again. So I'm thinking for day two we're going to do a crossplay of Joker/Mad Hatter and Harley Quinn/Queen of hearts.

Is this trying too hard or could this be kinda cool?

Ugh, today was suppose to be my day off. Last night I stayed up really late and got terrible sleep only to find out next morning that I have a few texts from my manager asking that I come in. I went in, worked for an hour and they sent me back seeing how exhausted and irritable I was.

OMM: The funny surprises of researching your family tree. So I've been digging around the ole family tree today and I discovered one of my great Grandpa's draft registration card. According to the card he was only 5'4". Clearly I didn't get my height from him! hahahaha.

That's because people back then were shorter, especially during the Great Depression where nutrition was scarcer than today.

Also, I learned some family history last summer.

I've had family from the 19th century whose graves were robbed and their corpses sold to medical schools.

I also saw a picture of my Great Grandfather and two of his buddies at a cabin. I could tell it was pre-WW2 because one of them had a sweater with Swastikas all over it.

My great grandfather's draft card was like 5 foot 2 or 5 foot 3.

O.O That is awful!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, that's true but my Grandpa (b1895) was 6 ft and his brothers were taller than that and they all lived through the depression and such. My other Great Grandparents were tall and lived in the same area so it might have had more to do with genetics than diet.
