I watched binge-watched eleven seasons of it in about three weeks. It's addicting.
It does have many moments where the carnage isn't seen on screen, but implied enough to make one want to wince anyway. As for actual straight up gore, it's mostly standard stabbing and shooting type. Dismemberment does happen, but is rare. It's a network tv show on CW- not Game of Thrones. Lol
It can be pretty suspenseful, but a lot of that comes from how "heavy" the story is rather than the monster they're hunting this week.
I have to agree- maybe it was just because it was the first episode, but the imagery there was pretty much the most shocking in the series. Translation: if you can make it past episode one, the worst is pretty much over.
