CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Note to self and any cooks out there that are like me.... and aren't cooks...
Do NOT add butter to your rice water before cooking.... unless you want a garbled mess of goop that looks more like grits than rice.
(pours slop into sink, rinses out rice cooker pot)
Round two.... now since I am out of rice..... cooked WAY too much on my first time messing with the rice cooker.
Now, as a rice substitute.... spaghetti noodles... Im not big on pasta, but..... I gotta do something with the cooked chicken (probably wrong to put the chicken through another steam bath, but whatever) so why not throw the chicken into the pasta?
No butter to make a mess of stuff..... so note to those of my fellow uncooking bachelors. You may think you're making an awesome step in cooking the butter into the rice.... but.... DON'T DO IT!! It MIGHT make the rice come out equally buttered..... but.... the end result is NOT something you'll want to ingest.
Lucky rice is cheap so I didn't have to eat it anyway...... which is why I will NEVER experiment with a $40 slab of lean steak.
I will buy the meat and have someone else cook it for me., it works.

I'm feeling accomplished today. I started my blog and I actually am having a great time, I've even had 4 views so far. So woot! lol
The reason I feel accomplished though is because I'm a huge procrastinator and I can be easily talked out of doing a lot of things. I talk myself out of everything it seems like. I set up excuses knowing I will in the end just quit something. But this... I actually just didn't put up any limits this time. I gave myself a ton of subjects to work with and I'm not confined to one thing.
So I'm feeling rather happy with myself!

Keep trying
While I was cleaning up, I noticed a weird, plastic like thin piece coming off of the pot..
I think it may be the non stick coating coming off in my food. That cant be good.I havent even used metal in this stupid thing, just the flimbsy plastic spoon paddle thing that came with it and to clean it let it soak in soap. Cheap pile of poop all poisoning my food.
Well, so much for eating healthier if my rice cooker is spitting out nonstick coating into my food.
back to the drawing board.....

You could get a wok and cook like stir fry. Maybe?
I wish, cause that would mean I could cook. The reason I was good with the rice cooker. I threw stuff into it and it cooked it..... all I did was push down a button and soak the pot afterward.
If I could cook I wouldn't even own a rice cooker...... stupid teflon stuff coming off.
Ill probably still use it a bit more though, maybe it will coat my intestines and when I get to be 50-60 I wont have to worry about eating 4 bran muffins to have a movement as my intestines will be "non-stick" Average American having 10 pounds of undigested red meat left over in the bowels? Nope, not me. thanks to teflon.

I really love 1 button cooking.... its like.... the micorwave..... without the food coming out smelling like a wet sock and tasting like a rubberized version of the food its supposed to be. If only I could win the lotto I could take classes for things I would mildly like to know... like cooking. I could fill my time becoming.... super toro. Id not only be able to cook an awesome meal, but I could work on my ladies car, fix up our house and many other awesomeness......
Maybe thats why I don't win..... God didn't make me to be perfect, he feels a bull that can cook and has money would just be WAAAAAAAY to irresistible for the ladies.... there would be riots in the streets and jealous murders all over the world when I were to pick one woman for life and marry her....... the only way the ladies of the world survive when I am a one woman man while Im dating is they see it as temporary. If I made it for life...... would be instant Anarchy from all the ladies alive.
Then they would know without a doubt, they must settle for 1,000th place..... even if they got to settle down with the second best man on the planet. Im so awesome and sexy.... my irresistiblity already makes me take 1st best, 2nd best- 999th.
The death, destruction and mayhem if I covered my only 2 weaknesses of not being rich and having no clue how to cook....... madness.... truly madness.

I'm on the paleo diet. No carbs or sugars. It was really tough yesterday, but feeling much better today. You don't really realize how addicted you can be to food until you stop eating the garbage we're not meant to eat.
