It's also easier to put on a mask and build up a forth wall with a stranger. Not so easy with those who know you on an intricate level.

That's why, if you're dating someone (for instance) be autentic from the start. That's probably bad advice, but whatever. It'll save a lot of confusion later on when the chrome finish wears off.

It's the same with anything.
It's not bad advice:) I agree completely. One thing I appreciate the most in others is genuineness. If I'm getting to know a guy I'm much more comfortable if he is himself and not trying to agree with everything I say/ think or acting a certain way to be the type of guy he thinks I'm looking for. I'm not advocating being confrontational or overly blunt, but I find honesty and openness refreshing.

No, that's good advice. It's difficult to do, though. Usually I think we try to act "normal" until we feel accepted by the other, and then our quirks and flaws start to come out. The things that we're afraid they're not going to like. But who knows, sometimes they do.

Fun Fact of the Day: Genghis Khan really got around in his day. There are now estimated to be 30 MILLION people alive today who can trace their DNA back to him.

That moment when you realize you don't have a pencil sharpener...so you go old school and sharpen the pencil with a knife...and it actually turns out really well.

I got this. :smarty:

If I have to keep looking at a bloody severed head (fake or not), I'm going to deactivate Facebook.

Weird, I never had to see it except out of my own choosing. It never popped up on my newsfeed. But then again, I do my best not to see anything posted by all of the grossly biased conservative and liberal sites that people post articles from and make me smh. The good news about all of this is that Kathy Griffin won't be on CNN's New Year's Eve special anymore lol. That was so awful. A couple years ago they literally said after the commercial she and Anderson Cooper were going to make out on-screen

So, my nieces just had their room redecorated. My sister said they needed comforters for their room and they would like Disney ones. I offered to get them for them....I had no idea how expensive Disney stuff is. Just for two comforters is like $300. I just told my sister it's time to get them into Spongebob because continuing the Disney princess line is unsustainable haha

I find it incredible that during the Obama years the Democrats painted the Republicans as backwards, hateful, gun-loving rednecks who couldn't accept the fact that Obama won the election twice. Yet, when Trump got elected the Democrats, especially the young ones, have been acting like savages because someone they didn't like got in office.

Hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I mean, Republicans elected a president who is backwards and hateful (among other things), so.... ;)

Hypocrisy is the name of the game in politics. Democrats will always hate what any Republican president does and vice versa. In my opinion, it demonstrates how most people are unable to think for themselves. Just because you're Republican you have to agree with everything Republicans do, and just because you're a Democrat you have to agree with everything the Democrats do. As for me, I will think for myself, thank you very much.

Just because someone agrees with a certain platform doesn't mean they can't think for themselves. It also doesn't mean they agree with everything that platform believes.

I consider myself a conservative, but there are many issues I lean left on. Most people form their own ideas and don't expect that everything has to go their way. I don't get why everything has to be so "it's my way or the highway."

Same. I'm reserved in the center of the political spectrum. I see good points by both sides, and I see fault in both as well. As I see it, Conservative societies are a danger to others while Liberal societies are a danger to themselves.

It sucks that in history's most successful nation, you're either a liberal hippy or a conservative redneck. There's no in between.

On my mind.....why is Dr.Pepper (and any other pop/coke/etc) so addicting?!!?!?!?!!?! I have gone without it for a little while now but I still crave it! WHY?! ugh. Sorry. ^_^
That's been the biggest issue for most of us in the diet thread haha. It's so difficult to get rid of. I don't even know if it's the sugar anymore. It's the carbonation and everything else.
