So when I was talking with the girl I like last night, she was musing that the dorm we live in had all the elements of a good soap opera, except for one: murder.
She's very right. Honestly, I might have to write this sometime.![]()
I've always hated on Brady because of the way he's praised-- like he's the Secone Coming or something-- when at the end of the day, he's always had an excellent O-line, a coach that uses every and any loop-hole, crosses any line-- and a media that sweeps everything they do under the rug because they want the dynasty, greatest of all-time debates.I dont mind if people hate the Pats or Brady.... it just seems far more people do it because its the "in thing" like people loathing Nickleback than any valid reasons on the team or men themselves. I defend the Pats for that reason alone..... aside from the fact I feel so much of the hatred placed on them is unwarranted I couldn't care less who likes who.
Ask me why I hate the Cowboys...... I have reasons.
Ask me why I hate the Titans........ I have reasons and a history.

Michael Jordan paved the way for a new kind of marketing that no one had really seen before. Ever since, every sport tries to duplicate it. Look at how Kobe Bryant was treated, and now LeBron. They're desperate to have a GOAT to market to the world.
Deflate gate was the last straw for me. Brady champions the rule change, immediately after the rule change, without a coaching change- the Pat's go from average in fumbles to best. It's harder to strip the ball when it's deflated. Coincidence?
The two guys they fried for Deflate gate referred to Brady in their text messages. Brady promised to cooperate fully with the investigation- then refused to turn over his phone, and then destroyed it, claiming he was being unfairly persecuted by the league.
Old detective tip when investigating, ask yourself: 'who benefits?'. Certainly the equipment staff did not benefit from deflating the balls. Certainly Tom Brady did. So why would they put their careers and livelihoods on the line to do this thing?
Because they were bribed to? By way of expensive shoes, and signed merchandise like game-worn jerseys? Which by the way, they referred to in their text messages...
Their explanation when asked about their texts? They were referring to a different Tom. One they couldn't provide a last name, phone number, description, or occupation for... This "Other Tom" just so happened to be very concerned about Patriots football inflation levels, which Brady just happened to be the champion of said rule changes that allows the pressure to be modified in the first place-- and Other Tom also apparently had access to game-worn, signed jerseys, shoes, etc...
When you build your career on videotaping other teams walk throughs before the game, having spies pretend to be photographers taking "panoramic shots" while they record the hand signals of the opposing team, so they can correlate it to game film, so they can know exactly what play the opposing team is calling-- and when your stadium is notorious for opposing team "equipment malfunctions" where their headsets stop working at crucial third down and late game situations-- it's hard for me to ever see him as a greatest of all-time candidate.
Add to that the League's excuse: "the taping of the opponent signals provided to advantage to NE" and Billichick's supposed ignorance that there was a rule against taping team signals (yeah, that's why they had to have photographers under a dummy name come into the stadium with a cover story, because they weren't aware it was cheating...)-- and their OC at the time, McDaniels- when on to coach Denver, where he got caught taping signals again. So I ask you, if it provided no advantage, why put your career on the line to do it a second time after getting caught? He is also the Patriots OC again by the way...

"Well everybody does it" is about the worst excuse in the world. If we actually punished people who get caught, then maybe everybody wouldn't cheat. But slapping them on the wrist and letting them continue, and praising every move they make in the media-- let's just tell all the kids watching that cheating is the way to get ahead. The Patriots IMO dont do anything any other team wouldn't do IF they were smart enough to think of it first.
