  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

I'm just going to put on The Sandlot to put me in a good mood, remind me that Spring Training starts in less than a month, and that baseball would never betray me like football did tonight.

What did Tom Brady ever do to you?

He ruined the NFL. They've loosened up a little in recent seasons, but the overprotection of quarterbacks in the NFL can be traced to when Brady tore his ACL on a completely clean and legal hit. Also, the infamous "tuck" play where he was about to throw, but tucked and ran a step, fumbled and it was called an inexplicitly called an incomplete pass.

So really all this "I hate Brady" should be more aptly said "I hate the NFL" because what you attribute to being "Brady's fault" is NOT his fault what the league decides to do.

Im happy to find out the Pats won tonight. I dont like nor hate them, same with the Falcons..... but the Pats win and the haters cry harder even though they tried to take Brady out and ruin the season of the pats due to those same people crying "Cheaters"

Now I just hope the crying will stop after the wounds are licked and people move on so I never have to hear it any more. (PS I've rooted against the Pats every year they have been in the SB until this one. Ultimately I didn't care and didn't even watch it.)

Well, I don't think women have to put an effort into dating short men if they don't want too. Men don't listen to the hypocritical body positive campaigns anyways, and I don't see them making much of an effort going out with people they don't like. So it wouldn't be fair if women had to enact that effort.

I'm just more concerned with how the undesired body types of both genders are treated socially. Not whether or not they deserve dates. Anyone can get a date if they want too. Many short men who think women shouldn't discriminate against shorter men often discriminate look-wise themselves, so they really shouldn't be talking. I mean people are free to go after who they want, but usually these things equal up naturally. The percentage of women and men is pretty much even so people will end up having to pair up with someone.
It definitely evens up and I have no problem with people having preferences- we all do. What I wish is that we didn't use our personal preferences as a reason to be vocally negative about a group of people. Just because a guy might prefer skinny girls or a girl might prefer taller men, it's not a reason for malicious humor at the expense of that group. I wish we could let each other be.

I'm not a big fan of the NFL front office or Goodell either. I simply think Brady is the reason why they started, after all, Goodell is good, longtime friends with Patriots owner, Robert Kraft. I don't buy for one second the Patriots were ever truly at-arms with the NFL during deflategate, that was just for show. If it would have been Manning, Brees, or anyone else, you would still be able to hit quarterbacks below the waist.

I don't hate Patriots because they cheated or because they always win. I hate the Patriots and Tom Brady they're the embodiment of everything wrong with the NFL today.

Looking for work. Prayers are appreciated. :)

<serious note> Of course, Sir Cody.

<light-hearted note to take any possible edge off> It's never a fun thing to have to do, we can all attest. Being an adult is soul-crushing sometimes. ^-^

I disagree cause I have seen the same favoritism shown to the likes of Manning and a few others, not just Brady. The league was getting softer before Brady.

See, I have the same hatred you have of Tom Brady only on Manning. Except I can admit that MOST of my hatred for him lies mostly in the fault of the media over rating him and putting his face everywhere annoying me.

Its not his fault everyone over rates him so highly. Its not his fault that the league clung to him. Its not his fault people are willing to pay him so much to plaster his face everywhere.

You seem to relentlessly hate Brady for reasons not of his control. The reasons you gave the man himself has ZERO control over but the league does. I DO agree that the league is too soft....... however..... I do not blame it on Brady as its all QBs that cry and want to be overly protected.

Which is just one reason I can never state PM as GOAT. This league is WEAK compared to those of the past where the defense would try to kill the QB. PM wouldn't have lasted 10 mins in the league of old (He gets rattled easy IF you can get to him. Not an easy task to get to him but if you do.....). Therefore not the GOAT and thats just for starters...... however.... I take nothing away from the man or hate on his skill. The man can read a defense like no other.

Well, then again you should state that you hate the NFL because the Pats are simply the poster child for the current NFL because they win. If you think ANY of the other teams in the league wouldn't do the same as the Pats if they had the brains and skill..... you're kidding yourself.

As you know, the Pats humiliated our team twice this season (lesser the last showing but still) I have no love for them...... to me though I just get tired of everyone picking on the Pats.

They are like Nickleback. Am I a fan? No.... but I don't see what makes them so "incredibly awful" either that garners so much hate when they seem no better or worse than any of the others in their genre. Sure their lyrics aren't complex or deep..... but neither are most of the lyrics of their genre.

Honestly, no matter what, the league cant win with people that blindly hate the Pats because if they go too severe "its all for show" if its too light or nothing happens "see favoritism"

Yes maybe they are friends but they still did SOMETHING..... take it and move on with life or stop watching the NFL. (As I pretty much have this season.)

I didn't say I hated the NFL, I said I think there's some things wrong with it, there's a massive difference. Personally, I would stop rooting for the Texans if Belichick became their coach, or Brady became their quarterback. Brady is not entirely innocent, he embraces it. It's him, Belichick, Kraft, and a few other brass are the guilty ones in that team.

Well, I for one would LOVE to see it..... I know it wont happen in a billion years...... unless of course the Pats found their next franchise QB and Brady had nothing left.

Just as Id have loved to have PM here even though I dislike the man and the medias love of him. I dont love Brady or Bill, but I want my team to win. It would be nice to have something that came from NE that didn't need a diaper on his chin that did something.
