Last night, I watched Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home with audio commentary by Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock, also director of ST4) and William Shatner (Captain Kirk).

I have the following discs checked out from Netflix:
While You Were Sleeping with Sandra Bullock
Stargate SG-1, season #1, disc #5 of 5
The Ring Virus, Korean remake of the Japanese film Ringu, which was later remade in the U.S. as The Ring w/ Naomi Watts. I'm tentatively planning a doubleheader of the Korean and U.S. versions (the latter I own) sometime this weekend. Thought it would be appropriate for Halloween.

Welp, I watched The Ring Virus, and it was so similar in storyline to the US version of The Ring (which I had seen before) that I scrapped the idea of watching the two back-to-back. Instead I gave While You Were Sleeping a spin.

One major difference between Korea's The Ring Virus and the US The Ring is:
In the Korean version, there are some disturbing sexual themes/scenes involving the "well girl" that are absent in the American movie.
This probably is what earned TRV a "Category III" rating in Hong Kong -- equivalent to an American "NC-17" -- yet in the US, it would probably get an "R", or maybe even a hard "PG-13" if the ratings board was feeling generous...this actually is another of several examples I've seen where it seems that the HK rating board is more strict than the MPAA would likely be.
