Colossians 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Titus 2:11-13
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

2 Corinthians 5:9-10
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Psalms 90:12
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

This question is for those with a little age and experience in life, those people that have been there, done that and got the T-shirt. I am in my 40's, and I am interested in ANY wisdom given, I wanna treasure and make use of every day of my life to the fullest. What would you tell your 40 something-year-old self if you could turn back time? Doesn't matter what it is, or what it's about, what would you tell yourself? Are there any life changes you would warn yourself to make right now?

Blessings to you, my sister in Christ Jesus. In my life I have no regrets from my past, nor do I have any regrets today. I am just a man that walks with The Lord. That said, He has made me about others. You see, this whole thing is about Him in us. Nothing else really matters. He has annoited me to preach the Gospel so that is what I do. I never know what is going to leave my lips, but everyday He works through me that some might be saved. There I times that I walk in the flesh and there are times that I walk in The Spirit. That can change in the blink of an eye as The Lord wills. One of the first words you heard from(through) me was balance. This is needed in our walk. There needs to be downtime. That is why it was said to be ready in season and out. Full speed ahead may be good for one but not so good for another. If these 2 were together as one then they are a balance for each other. Does not the day compliment the night and the night compliment the day? I hope I didn't go to deep in this as I tend to be really deep as is my teacher. So if I would go back to age 40 what would I tell myself? Do not worry about what you are about to suffer, it will not compare with what The Lord has in store for you.

Like you post sunshine. I wish that I had accepted the Lord at a very young age and avoided all the screw ups (like being a drunk, being in debt and so on). God bless you honey. You remind me of my lil' sister. Keep posting :).

Court long and hard before entering into a marriage relationship with a partner.

Do not seek worldly wisdom concerning medication for mental health, instead search the bible and close the gap (humble yourself) towards God.

Reject thyself and pick up the cross and follow Him daily.

Allow Him to guide you to medication if it's His will for you.

He has made many plants on this earth with healing properties.

Do not drink alcohol with an addictive personality.

Always seek first His Kingdom.

Try not to struggle and resist Him, instead surrender when He opens your eye's to Truth.

Seek Seek Seek Seek Him always.

Pray Pray Pray Pray to Him always.

Realise there is no place to hide from Him, all your deeds are done in His sight!

Keep your hand off your sexual organ. Do not touch, and don't open doorways to the demonic through the use of porn.

Fear Him always, who can destroy both body and soul in hell.

Renounce your anger, forgive and let it go, give it to Him.

Become spiritually poor and rely on Him every moment.

Love always, forgive always.

Pray the Lord's prayer before bed, the prayer is profound and is very deep, meditate on each word and what it means.

It will always get deeper and deeper as you grow.

Get water baptised in full submersion!

Another one, don't try to be hard and tough.

Let the tears of love flow.

If in mourning take time out with God.

Its been nearly 12 months and I'm still morning my beloved.

And to those who haven't experience a death of a loved one.

Pray to God to comfort those who are in mourning, it is His promise to all of us when we mourn.

Look at the world today and realise there are so many people spiritually poor and in mourning and need our Christ our Saviour Jesus.

Be very careful of the music you listen to and what you expose your children to.

It's a major tool of satan and will open doors to the demonic.

Same with TV broadcasts.

Turn off the TV, do not become brainwashed through worldly mind control.

Men, do not worship women and their bodies.

God is our God.

Disney and many other children's cartoons have many occult subliminal messages.

Turn it off.

And adult movies, are just as subliminal in a different way.

Discern the symbol satan is so hubris about.

The all seeing eye. The light of Lucifer, who is satan.

Time in your 40s goes by fast.....
Raising teenage children, you are at a make it or break it time in your career and many changes happen in relationships.
When you were in your thirties the kids were little, you were a bit younger and the demands were smaller.
So the kids are suddenly young adults with larger demands.
Car,Collage ,Clothes.lol the 3 C' s.
Middle age is here and with men the reliving youth stage kicks in.
So the Wife who just thought she had a hot flash has to deal with a 45 year old teenage Dad.
Look Honey I got a great deal on a speed boat!
Your Parents are getting older too,and sometimes can be demanding.
Your mom moves in and says I can't take that man any more!
Then your Dad shows up to tell you how crazy your mom is.
The kids have to bunk together and a all out riot is going on.
Two weeks pass and all is well for now, until one teen brings home a 5 ft Boa and the other stashed a boy in her room, your husband is missing in his speed boat ,your freaking out until they find him run aground in a mud flat.
Then you nurse his bug bites and sunburn until he tells you he opted out of boat insurance.
Then....??

Let's not forget the middle Child, you do forget them sometimes due to them quietly being gothic style drama queens.
When you do see them in their avant-garde clothes and white complementary make up and serpent contacts and black nail polish ,you think you may need a doctor.

Philippians 3:13-14 is as true then as it is now. How does one know if that split milk that happened yesterday won't be one of those best lessons in life.

Press in closer and closer to the Lord and keep researching/studying the Bible
and applying it in your life every day.
Don't waste your time going to "that college" in that town you move to, it's a waste of your hard earned money.

Well, I'm not over forty yet, but I would tell and show my younger 20-something self, I would show him all that I went through and what it took for me to be where I am now, and asked him if he really wanted to go through all of that, to be what I am, and what he will be, when He's older, if he thought he could get where I am now without having to go through all of that...?

God Bless!

Spiritually divorce all worldly possessions.

They must not stand in between you and God.

None of them will come with you.

Let them go, be willing to have nothing, except your relationship with God.

Do not care what others think of you. Only care what God thinks of you.

His blessings, joy, peace and love can be felt looking at a blade of grass.

No need to put a reliance on your happiness in a holiday or shopping.

Envy Not!

Don't be afraid of being alone, because you are never alone!

But no, rather, I also count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus
my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them to be dung,
so that I may win Christ Philippians 3:8

Amen!
