What would you name your future children?

I know I want to name one of them something from the bible. I feel like that is going to end up being my wife's decisions in the end though. I think to have your child's name planned out isn't the greatest idea. I also don't like how some girls always tell them self this is going to be my child's name and there husband gets no say what so ever in it. It should be a mutual decision between husband and wife.

Agreed we shouldn't give into our wives (or we will be oppressed )! You should have a mutual choice over naming your children. In my opinion husband and wife should be like yin and yang, completely equal in decisions.

As for me...not sure. I think my wife could give a name to my son, and I to my daughter. Personally I'd really love to have a girl...living in an annoying, male dominated family gets really boring.

Oooh, that's a good question. I'd like only one daughter named Charlotte Elisabeth Beatrix, three names in royal fashion. :D

I'd also just like one daughter...being born into a male dominated family with 2 younger brothers and a dominant father really sinks in, I just want something different.

A daughter would mean the world to me...but that's a horrid thought, it would demean the fact that I might have a son. It is God's will...I cannot question Him.

However I suppose most individuals have a gender preference for their future children, and I'd like a little girl

If I had a girl, I'd name her Amelia. This may be a silly reason, but I know several Amelias and all of them are beautiful, kind, intelligent people. Plus I just like the name.

If I had a son I'd probably name him David. Even though I also know several Davids and don't get along with them very well... :s

Amelia is such a beautiful name! I've known a girl who had a name similar to it, Amelie (she's half French and half Korean). She left Beijing but I still have some contact with her...not having Facebook in China doesn't help but oh well.

Girl: Rebekah, Rachel
Boy: Dominic, Seth

I would also name my kids after my parents, in honor of them. Which my mothers name is Colleen, and my fathers name is Frank.

I would name my first daughter Rachel, second Colleen and third Rebekah. For Sons it would go Frank, Dominic and then Seth. :)

Here's a question: When you think about picking out names, what method do you think about using first?

Some examples:

  1. Family names
  2. Cultural/ethnic names
  3. Religious names
  4. Any name you love, regardless of significance

I would like my children to be named after my parents. I've always wanted a girl named Rachel and a boy named Dominc and another boy named Seth. Funny enough I got the name Rachel from the tv show Friends.
When I was reading the bible I read the name Rebekah and thought it was just beautiful. :D
