What would you name your future children?

If you had children sometime in the future, what would you name them?

I would ideally picture myself having two children, a boy and a girl, and want their names to be both unique and international;

Son - Isaac
Definition: Laughing
Origins: Israeli (Hebrew, Tiberian), Arab (Arabic)

Daughter - Ariana
Definition: Holy one
Origins: Greek (most Latin countries), Welsh, Persian, Pakistani (Urdu), Afghan (Pashto)

Biblical and cute names (⌒▽⌒)

Is it weird that I have a list of names I'd like to call my future kids? I'm not sure how many children I'd like - I'll leave that up to God - but I'd like a large family.

Girls' first names:
Rosella - Latin/French "dove", Australian "brightly-coloured parrot"
Hannah - Hebrew "grace", "gracious"
Miriam - Hebrew "bitter"
Jemima - Hebrew "dove"
Martha - Aramaic "lady", "mistress"

Girls' middle names:
Mary - Hebrew "bitter" (my middle name, my grandmother's name)
Anne - Hebrew "grace" (my middle name, my mother's middle name)
Ada - Hebrew "ornament", "dawn"
Deborah - Hebrew "bee"
Abigail - Hebrew "my father is joy"

Boys' first names:
Ian - Hebrew (through Gaelic) "God is good"
Reuben - Hebrew "behold, a son"

Boys' middle names:
Levi - Hebrew "attached"
Enoch - Hebrew "devoted", "dedicated"
Simeon - Hebrew "He has heard"
Matthias - Hebrew/Greek "gift of God"

Of course, my list has changed a couple of times since I started it. And it depends, of course, on what names my future husband likes. My mother tells me that when she was a girl, she wanted to name her daughter "Hannah" or "Heidi"... Then she married my father, and realised that either of those names with the surname "Hay" sounds pretty silly.

I've also added "Joseph" to my list of boys' first names.

You know, I've never thought about whether I want boys or girls. I suppose I'd prefer girls, because I know how to make girls' clothes and find it easier - boys clothes can be a little awkward to sew. But I don't think I'd mind. I haven't thought as much about boys' names (you can probably tell from the list!).

Both lists, I keep thinking, "Oh, I like that name..." And then I realise that I already know someone, a relative or a close friend, with that name. I think that would be sort of awkward. I know naming children after relatives is pretty common (on my father's side, all the boys are Richard or Arthur, and on my mother's side, they're all Richard and most of the girls have an Anne somewhere), but I still think it could get awkward.

Some of the names I like but I wouldn't want to use because they're already in my family or close friends of the family are:

Grace (my sister's middle name; my great-grandmother's name)
Isabella (a close friend)
Joanna (well, my aunt's a Joan, but that's close... And I like the name Hannah better)
Joyce (another aunt is Joy)
Elise or Elizabeth (Elise is a cousin-in-law, Elizabeth is the middle name of an aunt and a cousin and the first name of a very close friend's toddler)
Lillian (my great-grandmother's name)
Emma or Emilia (a cousin is Emily)

David (an uncle)
Benjamin (a family friend)

Some of the really really family names are Richard, Arthur, Anne, Mary, Jean, and John. I might consider some of them as middle names. I don't know.

Gah! I think I'm putting too much thought into this for a 17-year-old who's never had a boyfriend!

i like the names you chose

Thanks, I just want to make sure that they're both international and religious (the names I've chosen are popular Christian, Jewish and Muslim names).

Anyway it really depends on what my wife would say haha...perhaps she'll hate my proposed names -_-
