As opposed to whom? If there is a God we are still right here. And billions have still suffered. If we can't work it out and God is going to play hide and seek games until he decides it's time to be nice again, I have no use for either of us. Let the chips fall where they may. if all of this is random and there is no purpose to any of it, isn't the anger about it all displaced? who would it be directed toward? humanity? why be angry at all regarding a physics experiment that can not reason, but can only follow laws that somehow control it? why be angry about injustice or suffering that ultimately is meaningless anyway? who cares if the baby is raped? she was merely an accident of chemical composition and had no intrinsic value anyway. this is what we have if there is no God.
if there is though, there may be purpose to all this suffering. we may be unable to decipher it. there may be wisdom that surpasses our own. it may be more complex than the simple fundamentalist platitudes that are supposed to suffice, but that doesn't mean that it isn't there, nor is our inability to comprehend it evidence that it doesn't exist. it just helps to define our limitations.
either way, anger seems an odd response to either possibility.
