Would you leave Christianity for $1,000,000? Maybe $2,000,000? If you were offered a Bentley or Rolls Royce car to turn your back on God, would you make the deal? Would you renounce Christ for a top of the line Rolex or Breitling watch? What would it take for you to leave Christianity?

Personally, I would never leave Christianity for anything. In fact, the Devil even offered to make me a multibillionaire to depart from my faith, but I rejected him many times.

I don't think it's possible for me to turn my back on God, even if I wanted to. Even if I took the 2 million and the bentley, I would default on my end of the bargain. Maybe I'd keep that a secret? ;)

Salvation is of the Lord. If you turn your back on Jesus Christ, I say you never were His.

I have seen people leave Christianity due to abuse and unkindness suffered at the hands of Christians.

1. Those who would do such abuse are not Christians or are not walking in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Those who would turn from Christ because of being abused (while as absolutely horrible as abuse is), are simply not Christian. God will never accept the excuse when they stand before Him that they rejected Christianity because they were abused by evil men.

Christianity is not a religion but a cult.

1. Not true.
2. You claim that Christianity is a cult, then you claim you are a Christian, therefore by your own logic, you are a member of a cult. That is high inconsistent.

Your personal relationship with God—that is religion.

Again, not true. Religion is man trying to bribe God to turn a blind eye to his or her sin by "good" works. Christianity is turning from sin and trusting in the completed work of Jesus Christ, not religion.

In other words, leaving Christianity is no big deal. I don't even require money for that.

If you think leaving Christianity is "no big deal", please remove "Christian" from you profile, since you do not understand what Christianity is.

It takes far less than that to lure a man to worship other Gods and abandon the Living God. The human heart is an idol factory.

For many years I struggled to leave Christianity (the religion, with its rules, creeds, rituals, all important traditions, constant bickering and power games, and more) but I never ever wanted to renounce Jesus Christ. But one thing I learned through those years is that it is not by my strength that I continue to have a relationship with Jesus - He never let me out of his hand. It is only by his initiative and daily faithfulness that I am his.

The former is not Christianity, but rather religion. The latter is Christianity.

You are asking 2 questions. The first is what would it take to leave Christianity and the second is would you renounce Christ.

To me Christianity is the Church and religion (which despite what someone else said, religion is the rules and ways of doing things rather than Christ). For me to leave the Church/Christianity would be if I could do more for God oitside the Church. Maybe if the Church had gone astray from Biblical teaching. Maybe for thousands of billions of pounds so I could end world hunger, rebuild war torn countries, etc for the Glory of God.

But the second question to knowingly renounce Jesus and His salvation and mean it is in my opinion the unforgivable sin. You would be knowingly be rejecting salvation. That would mean eternity in Hell and is not worth the whole world.

Genuine Christians (those born from above) have the Spirit of Christ in them (Romans 8:9) unlike those who belong to the club of churchianity (like the five unwise virgins). One who is ACTUALLY a new creature in Christ cannot (is not capable of) "giving up Christ" and more than you can give up being a mammal or the child of your mom...

Satan essentially made this offer to Jesus and our response should be the same.

The OSASers should jump for this offer since they say salvation is unconditional and cannot be lost under any circumstance.

None of us can really answer this question. None of us know what will happen to us in the future or to the world. We can say we will never forsake our faith, but anything is possible. Most likely most of us will remain Christians, but some of us will not endure till we die. The reasons for each person will be personal ones. For some people they might decide to convert to Judaism or Islam, while others will become atheists. Not everyone who is raised a Christian or becomes a Christian in their younger days remains so for the next 60 years.

Some people who departed from the path of righteousness did not live to see another month. King Herod was probably a billionaire in today's monetary terms. The Holy Spirit helped him make a treaty with a city to his north and to deliver a speech. The people worshiped him like he was God. He did not give the glory to God and soon dropped dead (Acts 12:23).

There was a man in Sweden who was upset he could not fit a table into the trunk of his car. He got the idea of putting furniture into boxes and selling it to people cheaper as they would be able to avoid furniture delivery charges by loading the unassembled furniture into their vehicles and taking it home from the store themselves. He founded IKEA discount furniture warehouses. He lives in a middle class house, in a middle class neighborhood, in Switzerland. He helped people lower their furniture costs and they helped him out with $40 billion.

There are millionaires living in middle class neighborhoods with ordinary cars. They started small businesses. There are people with Rolex watches and Corvettes who have not been able to accumulate $100,000.

Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven...

To be honest, if Calvinism were the only belief available, I would exercise my free will and leave without hesitation.
