So, you would rather burn in hell than unity with another Christian Church?I will never... under any circumstances, submit to The Church of Rome.
I will burn in hell first.
To share in her communion would be to share in the violence and trouble she has caused in her history. I will not be party to that.
Forgive me...
Obviously, the Apostles, including St. Peter himself, did not see the primacy of Peter as him being over everyone else, since the first bishop of the Church was James.
According to the RC teaching, shouldn't Peter have been the first bishop of the Church, which (of course) is the Church of Jerusalem.
As we would as well.
Do the Orthodox have anything like Cardinals that are over the Bishops as the RCs do?
Hi. Would the Pope be willling to step down to just being Bishop of Rome if it brought reconciliation. The Catholic Church is taking most of the initiative for reconciliation with the Orthodox with regard to disputed matters such as the filioque, yet is still routinely accused by some Orthodox of being the more intransigent and stubborn of the two parties. Anti-Catholicism among Orthodox (especially the more self-proclaimed traditional branches) unfortunately continues to flourish.
When the happy day comes in which Orthodox polemicists (particularly the non-ecumenical ones) cease attacking the Catholic Church by equating excess and corruption in practice with dogmatic and spiritual essense, then I will be utterly delighted and relieved .

I see no need of a Pope so I am with the Orthodox on that. Peace
Ok. So who is the central authority in the Orthodox. Another words the Pope is head honcho over all Roman Catholics worldwide, and over the Cardinals, Bishops etc. What would be the closest the Orthodox have to a leader? The Pope is "just" the Bishop of Rome. The title itself is not a point of contention, LLoJ. We Orthodox refer to our Alexandrian Patriarch as Pope, and he's not the Ecumenical Patriarch.

Christ God!
The Orthodox Church is counciliar. It does not have an earthly ruling head as you speak of.
Forgive me...
