Actions are kind of after the fact. If we are fighting God, our actions will get worse and worse. If we come to Him, they are bound to improve.I don't know about you, but I don't feel that belief should take precedence over actions.
The action that really matters is believing!
Joh 6:29 -Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
I can understand feeling that one must both be a believer and a decent person, but I never found justice in the idea that killers or rapists could evade punishment because of belief.
They can't. Most would use 'belief' as an excuse, and attempt at leniency I suspect. On the other hand man's evil unjust laws might call some people a rapist if they had sex with a wife, and she reported it as rape out of spite or some such nonsense. A parent might rescue a child from an evil mom or dad, and be called a kidnapper....a child might quote the bible or have one at school and be called a criminal...etc etc etc.
Since they would be fallen evil spirits, that fits.I never said the Greek gods were good, I don't think they are. Even at their best they are portrayed as cruel, selfish, and cold.
