Uh.....where did you hear that the words, piece, package, agh, and ahh are bad? I honestly have never ever heard this before.
A word like piece could its own bad connotation (guns are referred to as a "piece" from what I've heard places) but we (as humans, Christian or not) should know the difference between a piece of cake and a piece meaning the slang for a gun. I should hope. ![]()
What's really strange about this whole issue is that each Christian has their own idea of what music is bad/good...regardless of the word/theme issues. For example, I think that a song is bad because of the language in it and the theme sung about. But my sister, who is also a Christian likes the same song...doesn't agree with the language/theme but still thinks the song is good. So who's right? I guess that's the question that is trying to be answered.
What words are okay? I guess it's a personal conviction issue. How do you feel after saying a particular word? Do you feel good about it, or do you feel guilty for saying whatever it is that you said? If you feel guilty, then you probably stumbled upon a word that was better left unsaid.
I'm going to think on this subject a bit more....but I just wanted to say what I said here for now. ![]()

Yes, you should assume any word is bad until otherwise noted.![]()

I still can't believe people can argue that cursing isn't wrong. Don't you feel the conviction when you say or listen to words like that?

No you should assume they are.
Christianity isn't about what you can get away with.
Let Christ change you.

We all know which words are questionable.

Ok here we go. Anyword, whether a curse or not, shouldn't be used as a curse.
Blatant cursewords ARE obvious. We refer to them as the "insert letter of choice here" words. Again, just imagine you're talking to Jesus. What words you refrain from using in a prayer? Don't ever use those words.

Example:
One of my tracks I like says: "Start this stuff off."
The word in the sentence is not intended to be a curse. Its intended to put more emphasis on what is being said. If you said "stuff" it just plain sounds stupid. But to say the other word, it gives it more umph! It just plain sounds better.

Again, I'd say take a look at what's being said. If the point can't get across without the ever so yummy "umph" of human excretion, then perhaps the point isn't worthy of getting across.

Now stuff is okay but the actual word in the song says another word for human excrement (is that right?) starting with an "s".
Now in Ireland that word would mean nothing. Not bad at all. In the USA its considered bad by the FCC. Who's right? The Irish or the FCC?

BTW guys. Jesus did say fool. Many people today say that is a bad word.

Curse words aren't defined by an organization. They are defined by popular usage. As others pointed out, some words can be used in more than one way.
However, the S word is always a curse in america. You're ignoring the verse I quoted above from Romans 14:15. If those around you consider it a curse, it is.
Now by yourself is another story. However, I would still argue that it falls under abusive speech.
I don't think you've answered our questions above. Would you say words like that while praying to Jesus?
Btw, a fool is someone who has been fooled or someone who is foolish. However, it's not easy to use the word without it sounding like an insult so I would not call anyone a fool (or an idiot or stupid). For these kinds of words, it's all in how it's used. You figure it out.
Also you're the one who started this thread. The fact that you had to ask the question should indicate that something is wrong with the words.
