    ...for the result in Pennsylvania...??

With 99% of the votes in, the Democratic challenger is either going to win or lose by only a tiny margin. This completely erases the 20% advantage Trump was given in 2016.

    So, will it be....

    1. Saccone wasn’t ‘close’ enough to Trump...?
    2. The result was faked by thousands of illegals voting...?
    3. Soros.....Clinton....something...?

NYT now reporting a win to Lamb by 579 votes. So I presume there’ll be a recount?

But regardless, this must be considered a win for the Dems...

Trump won the district by nearly twenty points last November....this was Trump country....
Trump went to the district twice to campaign recently.
He sent his son and other top White House aides to campaign.

...and today ends in nearly a tie.

Lesson to other GOP candidates: Keep Trump away.

Trump is definitely going to throw Saccone under the bus. "Saccone was a weak candidate, but people wanted me to help him out. So I had to help him out. What was I going to do? It's all about me."

Donald or no Donald, this district was so deeply red that the Dems didn't even bother to have a candidate there in 2014 or 2016... the times, they are a changin'

I'd be rather cautious of trying to portray this as some big bell weather for Democrats. To begin with, the papers were claiming that Lamb had an easy six point lead going into the actual voting. Secondly, the incumbent was a Republican who was forced out due to a scandal, and this tends to dampen enthusiasm for whichever side it happens to. Finally, Lamb isn't a progressive. He's more of a conservative Democrat who personally opposes abortion and rejects gun control. Unless the Democrat party is actually going to stop going further and further left (not going to happen) and swing back closer to the center like any sane party would do, this doesn't necessarily mean that blue wave of yours is going to happen.

If you ignore the small fact that in race after race Democrats are WILDLY overperforming in comparison to 2016. There has to come a point where you accept that making excuses for each loss doesn't cut it any more, and the strong likelihood is that November is going to be a large blue wave*.

*Not that I discount the perfectly possible event of the Dems managing to shoot themselves in both feet in some unexpected way between now and then.

The Pennsylvania 18th Result Tells Us What Everything Has Been Telling Us For A While

Still don't know if this is an indication that there will be a blue wave. Could be there will be a counter red wave if the GOP can get their voter blocks enthused. But this is the latest in a trend, and does point to a blue wave coming. We will see where it crests.

Let us not count our chickens before they hatch. I certainly hope we get something to balance out the Donald but I have seen a few to many "sure things" crash and burn before.

Sure, and it certainly wouldn't be the first time the Dems have self-immolated. I'm just going on the situation at present.

Right now I'm guessing no blue wave and no red wall. Dems may be able to eek out a flip of the House, but they're not flipping the Senate.

No, but I think they will make some modest gains in the senate.

Most of the seats up for grabs are Democrat, IIRC. Right now, the DNC is able to pour all of their money and effort into these special elections to try and provide the appearance that Trump's win is a fluke. Once the actual main event occurs, I'm guessing that they won't be able to keep up the pace and falter.
