What reasons would be that I would be sent to hell when I die?

I believe that you will find the following writing insightful.

I certainly did.

The Final Quest [English] Rick Joyner

......
......

Now why would a simple Mantle of Humility make it so that you would have nothing to fear in the presence of God?

Isaiah 57:15

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holyplace, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."

Now why would God only dwell with people who become humble?

Could it be because proud people would take heaven and turn it into a hell of some sort?

Matthew 18:3

“And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

That is the key.... most kids are somewhat teachable........
or shall we say..... humble!

You may need to continue to study the word and ask God's guidance to make sure you are on the right way. If you do a good thing for a disciple of Christ, you will not lose your reward.

Mark 9:41 For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Christ's, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.

Just an observation. OP posted in the Advice section. Presumably, if she wanted debate about the doctrine of Hell, she would have posted in a theological section.

Why then do we commandeer the thread and clog it with endless doctrinal debate, and frankly, personal opinion? Sure, I can see broaching the subject, but to carry on crosstalk? I don't see it.

A quick look at OP's history seems to show she has an anxiety problem. Hell is clearly part of it, but not necessarily even a foundational part.

Just my opinion, but I think we would do better to address the OP's concerns, and not bury them in debate.

In my opinion you should concern yourself with your Christian walk and strengthening your relationship with Christ, rather than worrying about hell. Do the best you can. Know that God loves you, despite your shortcomings.

This sounds very much like something told to former Atheist Howard Storm during his near death experience.

I have a Bible that I take very careful care of. It has no rips or tears or anything.

It is obvious that you're caring to much for the physical paper and ink, and much less for the contents thereof.

I can't tell you the number of Bibles I've gone through. I have one, an NIV, that I have had for 30+ years. It is an old and treasured keepsake. But it is ripped, falling apart, there is a whole section that has separated from the binding that I have to keep putting back in the Bible every time I open or close it. Don't be afraid to use your Sword. Don't let it gather dust on a bookshelf. Do open it, and read it every day, and if it gets ripped, put a piece of tape on it, and continue to use it!

The qualifications for full salvation is that you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He rose from the dead. If you have accepted Christ as Saviour, you are fully justified and free from all condemnation. The scripture says that if we judge ourselves, we shall not be judged. This means that every born again believer who has judged themselves as a sinner and accepted Christ will avoid the Judgment. Those who will stand in the Judgment will be those who have rejected Christ. The basis on which they will be judged is their attitude to Christ and their response to the gospel.

You have to realise that Justification is complete and permanent the moment you accepted Christ. The only way you might lose your salvation is a total and complete rejection of Christ and a return to the world. This has to be a deliberate act of rejection. I do not believe that any genuinely converted child of God could ever do that no matter how much trouble they could get into.

But sanctification is a life-long process and sometimes it feels like taking two steps forward and one step back. It takes time for your mind to be transformed to that of Christ and your nature to be changed into something more Christ-like. We are earthen vessels, subject to failure and shortcoming. This is why we have our defence lawyer in heaven, Jesus Christ. Also 1 John 1:9 helps us to keep short accounts with God.

But we do have an enemy of our souls, who uses our failures to drop condemnation and fear bombs on us. He would try and keep the truth about your standing with God away from you and try to tell you that your Christianity is based on performance rather than grace. It is by grace you are saved, through faith, not of yourself, but it is the gift of God to you. You need to resist the devil when he drops the condemnation bomb on you by telling him that you are a child of God and that he cannot come anywhere near you. You then pick up that condemnation hand-grenade and throw it right back at him.

Even while you were yet a sinner, Jesus loved you and gave Himself for you. So now that you are a child of God, don't you think that He would love you all the more? Remember that Jesus is your Judge and your defence lawyer at the same time. Can you get a better deal than that???

We need to be careful about promoting performance-based religion. Christian faith is based on grace as its foundation for salvation. It is the life-long process of sanctification that is based on our performance in the strength of the Holy Spirit. The best antidote for the fear of hell is to consider all the scriptures that show us that in Christ we are totally free from the guilt, punishment and condemnation of sin because Jesus took all our sin and replaced it with His righteousness in us.

I command that your nervous system and any other part of your body that is causing the pain to be restored to its normal function and that the pain go right now in the Name of Jesus. I curse the spirit of affliction and command it to depart from you.

I agree.

Any work based philosophy of gaining salvation turns any good deed into a selfish act of doing something for yourself. Doing a good deed in order to receive salvation, for your own best interest......... instead of doing a good deed in order to be more like Christ and have Christ revealed through you.

So that we wouldn't have to die ???

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through Christ Jesus. Romans 6:23
But every Christian who is not still breathing has died already. So, this means a spiritual, "second death." But Revelation describes the lake of fire as the second death. If there is no Hell, then what is the second death?

You know your sins better than I. But if what you said you believe about Jesus is true, then he saved you from all of that. No need to live in fear.

God doesn't send people to hell, sin does.

Imagine you are a judge. One day a young man enters your courtroom in a bright orange jumpsuit and chains. He is your adult child. The same child you faithfully raised, feed, clothed, and cherished with all your heart. However, he now stands convicted of a serious crime. What do you do?

Can you imagine a scenario where you allow him to walk free with no punishment just because you love him? Is there any situation you can imagine when that would actually happen?

Me neither.

Then the question becomes; are you capable of being a more loving judge and parent than God is? If the answer is yes, then your concept of God is inadequate. If the answer is no, then divine justice taught in many churches becomes possible; it is indeed totally possible.

Remain in Him and He in you. You have a friend who is closer than a brother. He has taken your sin and really you have no right to worry about what he has done with it. You belong to Him and He will not let you go.

So why might you be thrown in the fire? Look at this: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. (John 15)

So here's the question: are you being pruned or are you being cut off? In both circumstances the branch is removed and pruning often cuts right to the base of the branch if the Gardener deems it necessary. If you are remaining orientated towards Him, the vine, irrespective of the cut that you are feeling then you remain in Him and in fact a harsh pruning brings you closer to Him than ever. Whereas if you turn away from Him when you feel the cut (which for you is the anxiety and worry), if you become the part that falls to the ground, then you are cut off from Him.

So keep your focus on Christ Jesus your friend and He will never let you go.

The truth...

Not believing in or on the Lord Jesus Christ....

As for whatever your personal responsibility would be to other reasons or criteria beyond that or with that, only God knows, and will judge by an individual by individual basis...

God Bless!
