  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Eph 2 "8 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life."

We were created to do good works, but we are saved by faith not as a result of doing good works.

Yes we are saved by faith, we cannot earn salvation, but where do you get the idea we can't lose it by doing evil or not being obedient, or basically showing we really don't have the faith you mention because we don't believe Jesus when he says just what he did in the verse? I could refer you to more scripture but just that one covers it nicely

Edit:

I should add, I'm not just picking on you Josh, your original comment represents the beliefs of many here. IOW, I realize what you are saying is being taught and you didn't come up with it on your own. But at the same time, I'm sure you realize many are against the idea we don't have to be obedient in order to get to heaven, and I'm clearly one of them.

Some go so far as to feel it's a very dangerous doctrine to teach, for both those who believe it and those listening to it/taking it to heart.

The actual percentage saved is .333 (1/3rd), .666 (2/3rds) bear the Mark of the Beast.

The tail of the Tanah Whale/Dragon sweeps one third of the Stars of Heaven to the earth, the Tail of the Tanah is the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] of the lamb i.e., Elijah, the Tanah Whale is translated Tanah Dragon because they called the Master of the house Beelzebub.

The Whale pertains to the Sign of Jonah, thus the two great signs in heaven (mentioned in Rev. 12 are actually one sign with two perspectives, one for the believer and one for the blasphemer.

I never said we could not lose it. We never lose our free will or our freedom of choice. In Heaven we do not have a physical body. A lot of our sin here has to do with not keeping our physical body under control.

I'm sure you realize many are against the idea we don't have to be obedient in order to get to heaven, and I'm clearly one of them.
Jesus is coming for a bride that is without spot, blemish or wrinkle. If we want to be used by God then we need to take Holiness and Sanctification very serious. If people want to get raptured out of here before the trib then they are going to have to live right before God.

I don't know. And take note of my exact wording there as my comment didn't claim they did.

What do you think the animal sacrifices were for?

I have always understood the animal sacrifices as Heb 10 says, reminder of sin. That the people would understand their situation with God, their need for forgiveness through blood, the principle leading them to later understand the sacrifice of Jesus. I don't know if those sacrifices temporary covered sin or not. Was it only a symbolic act? If so what really mattered was the repentance of the people and not the sacrifices.

In 2 cor 5:8 we are told to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Where is Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, and so forth ? (according to all Scripture - TORAH, PROPHETS, PSALMS and NEW TESTAMENT)
How long does it feel like you've been asleep when you wake up after 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours or twelve hours ?
Is there any known 'time', or sense of time in the life to come ?
How much time passes between physical death and the resurrection spoken of in the New Testament ?

Did Jesus eat fish in full view of the disciples after His resurrection ,
and even offer them or Thomas to TOUCH his side and hands(or wrists) where the WOUNDS OF CRUCIFICXION were still VISIBLE ?

Not just Jesus many were resurrected: "52 The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. 53 After Jesus’ resurrection, when they had come out of the tombs, they entered the holy city and appeared to many people." (Matthew 27)

The resurrection power of God is already at work in us to prepare us for that day. But we the church have not been resurrected yet.

Time is different in Heaven then what it is here because of our perspective. When I had my vision of Paul I received 12 seconds of his time. It took one and a half seconds to get there to where we had the conversation and 1 1/2 seconds for him to get back to where he had been. He spend 1 1/2 seconds talking about about what David wrote about being good. He spend 1 1/2 seconds talking about what he wrote about being right. He wanted to know why I was not living right before God. He may have also spend some time to think about this after we had our conversation. Not that it was really a conversation because I did not really say anything. Nor was it much of a vision. A dream is very vivid but in a vision I can see almost nothing.

This is all I know about time in Heaven if from the visions I have of Heaven. If I talk to my son it is the same. He is in an area there that is like Alaska here. It takes him 1 1/2 seconds to get to the area of Heaven where we can have a conversation and I can talk to him. Or at least ask him a question and have him give me an answer. For example once I asked him about Tony Hawk and if people in Heaven remember him. I was told that Tony has a big following with a lot of people there in Heaven. They even have a big skate park in Heaven named after Tony Hawk.

Maybe this is just my imagination and if people want to think that it is fine with me. This is the only understanding I have of time in Heaven that I am able to share with you.

AMEN! kbblh is TOTALLY to be avoided like a plgue !
I do not know if it is to be totally avoided but it is difficult to understand. We see this when Jesus was asked if John the Baptist was Elijah. "13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. 14 And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come." (Matthew 11:14) Now we have a discussion on what this means and this raises a question about reincarnation. We know that John the Baptist had the same spirit upon him that Elijah had upon him. The kabbalah people think they can explain this but it is something that most people are going to reject. Or not put any effort into trying to understand. If people are not able to understand then of course they should avoid what is going to confuse them if they are not ready or prepared to receive this teaching.

I am pretty sure they are in Heaven now. Before Jesus want to calvery they were in a place called Paradise. Jesus talks about this with the thief on the cross. "Jesus answered him, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise." Luke 23 43 We hear about Abraham in the story of The Rich Man and Lazarus. We are told that He lead captivity captive. "This is why it says: “When He ascended on high, He led captives away, and gave gifts to men.” (Eph 4:8)

It's inferred..If we need do nothing to gain it, how can we possibly lose it?

Satan and one third of the angels were thrown out of Heaven. "And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born." Rev 12:4 This is why I believe that one third of the people from every tribe, nation, tongue and people will be saved. We will take the place of the angels that were thrown out of heaven. A time is coming when a third of the earth will be destroyed.

Good if it is your imagination .....

As written in Scripture, the dead do not know anything.... they cannot talk with you .... and trying to talk with the dead is called necromancy I think, forbidden. (but not , perhaps, wrong to do in 'dreams' "as if".... as long as Scripture is not willfully violated)

Not sure i understand the question, Jeff.
Remember why the Israelites were punished once, perhaps more often, EVEN THOUGH THEY OBEYED YAHUWEH (GOD) ?
They were punished when they obeyed Yahuweh - they did what He said to do, BUT THEY GRUMBLED - for grumbling (lack of faith?) they were punished, even though they obeyed Yahuweh's commands.

Likewise, on Judgment Day, what will happen to those who 'obeyed', but only for show, pretending to be faithful ?

The bible went to the trouble to make that clear so, yes it could play more of a role in all this than some might know.
