Nineveh knew the true God.
They were not like Egypt who were in open definance, saying that they did not know this God. Knowing God is knowing what is required to worship and honor and show obedience to His requirements.
While the Israelites have failed their commission to teach all nations... does not excuse all nations. Nineveh was called to repentence, and they knew what sins they were, they knew they were sinning against the God of Israel. They were gentiles.
Somebody need to do some more studyNineveh knew the true God. They were not like Egypt who were in open definance, saying that they did not know this God. Knowing God is knowing what is required to worship and honor and show obedience to His requirements.
When the people of Nineveh humbled themselves before God, the God of Israel, God honored them and their repentence by not destroying them. When they later returned to their wickness, then they were destroyed. God does not fool around with those who think that just because they are not the tribe of Israel, that they are not obligated to be obedient to Him and worship as their Creator..
Knowing God and still being wicked is not mutually exclusive.Show us where God sent prophets to the nations. Nineveh is a valid example,(got anymore). There is prophetic value concerning Jonah's 3 days in the belly of the fish and Christ's 3days in the belly of the earth. This is also a parallel in Gentiles being accepted by God.
Mat 12:41The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas [is] here.
Somebody need to do some more study.....Nineveh did not know God, they were so wicked against God's people that Jonah was saying "no way to God."
God gave this sinful nation a chance to repent and turn from their wicked ways. No they did not become circumcised and kept the law..There is no evidence that they began to worship God.
Your commentary is suspect.

Dont you think that you should prove that God commisioned the COI to preached to the world?Knowing God and still being wicked is not mutually exclusive.
exactly Crib..... prove that in fact the bible is a record of the words of God to humanity..... it is not..... the bible is the words of men about God..... God didn't write the bible, nor did he dictate it.... does it have a purpose? Sure, but that's a different thread...Dont you think that you should prove that God commisioned the COI to preached to the world?
The fact is, the bible is a record of the words of God to humanity. We must be in agreement with what is written or someone will ask us to prove our understanding.

After His baptism and before the sermon on the Mount, when Jesus was being tempted of the devil, He said...Mat 4:4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.exactly Crib..... prove that in fact the bible is a record of the words of God to humanity..... it is not..... the bible is the words of men about God..... LOL.... The bible doesn't have a voice, so it tells us nothing.... however those who interpret it give it a voice.... which is what you have done Crib... thanks for your response.... God did not give us the bible, nor did he edit it... however that is another topic for another time....After His baptism and before the sermon on the Mount, when Jesus was being tempted of the devil, He said...Mat 4:4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Not only was Jesus establishing the OT as prophesy from God. By qouting what was written He also declared that life is dependant on every word that God has said to prophets and angels as messenger to men. If you dont trust the bible as God's word, that's your right.
The bible tells us what God has done in the past and what God is going to do in the future. Is there another God that gives us a book that He must fufilled every word?

It is like you are asking...
Job 34:13
Who appointed him over the earth? Who put him in charge of the whole world?
What does God think...
Isaiah 24:5
The earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant.
Isaiah 42:4
he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his law the islands will put their hope."
Jeremiah 6:19
Hear, O earth: I am bringing disaster on this people, the fruit of their schemes, because they have not listened to my words and have rejected my law.
Matthew 5:18
I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
You're welcomedLOL.... The bible doesn't have a voice, so it tells us nothing.... however those who interpret it give it a voice.... which is what you have done Crib... thanks for your response.... No....It is me asking...."Dont you think that you should prove that God commisioned the COI to preached to the world?"
I guess you have no qualifying answer.
Is that your best text you can present to show God commissioning Israel to go out to the world? As priests, a whole kingdom of priests, they were to teach God and His commandments to the world.
Exodus 19:6
And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
You're stretching what a priest does. SO here is a text that simplifies what the priesthood of believers do ;1Pe 2:5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.A theme that was later elaborated on by Peter...
1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
The theme that Abraham's faith and belief in the One true God and His righteousness will be given to all nations is a resounding theme in the bible.
Genesis 17:5
Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
The "light" the truth and Abraham's faith was to be reflected...
Deuteronomy 4:6
Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
This is the living testimony that God is wise and it reflects in the lives of His people.

I further note that I do not sojourn and have never sojourned with an Israelite. I've not met an SDA who has.
As do new covenant believers.
How do we know God? What role does the Holy Spirit play in the lives of new covenant believers?
Isn't interesting that each of the Ten Commandments were first spoken by God prior to being written down?
Thus, if a man is to live not just by bread by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God then we can surely conclude that everyone should live by the words of the Ten Commandments.
Which law?
What "law" was added because of sin in the world?
