  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

what messianic prophecies where not fulfilled by jesus?

"Getting back to Jewish roots" is a long standing ideal of some in dealing with Christianity. However, were I a Christian I would attempt to get back to the roots of the early Church. The problem is that it basically means doing a study of Catholicism and the Eastern Orthodox since they are really the only two players that can date back that far. I am not sure why they are so reviled by some, but it amuses me to no end that the Bible you open up had the cannon mostly decided by the Church a lot of Protestants despise.

i have spoken to some hebrew roots movements and some messianic forums before...i felt lied to or felt they wernt being honest....a gut feeling that they were trying to pull the wool over my eyes...i dont trust them....simple things in the new testament they denied

I will keep following the ways the Law gives to be forgiven of sin and it will be remembered no more. Sin that is remembered no more cannot judge me.

I pray hashem finds you blameless before him....i am not a jew...all i have is the faith in the blood of jesus for my sins...

what do you mean?

It is not easy to explain. I have, through some medical problems, experienced essentially what happens when the brain has an overload of electrical activity commonly known as a seizure. While my brain was out of condition, there was nothing. There is an emptiness in that time that I cannot fully explain. Nothing I experienced during, it was only after coming out of it that I noticed. Basically, there was nothing of me to experience anything while my brain was having problems.

If there is a soul, something should have registered in some way. If it is part of me and all that. That experience, and the several other ones I have experienced has brought it to my mind that there may be no soul.

It does teach it, but it is not what I feel I experienced.

Yes, that is the possibility I am suggesting. This is what you have and then you are gone.

I believe and I doubt.

i see...well i think many high up in government think the same way...where is the fear of hashem....when man comes to the point of doubting hashem....just because hashem has been silent for so long does not mean anything...it is wise to have faith till the end...how will it hurt to simply trust in hashem till the end and doubt not?....well brother i will let you rest...gn...i will keep you in my prayers...peace

I think doubt is a perfectly fine thing. I do not simply accept what I am told. Who could I trust anyway if I did not look into it? I certainly do not think the rabbis are completely correct on matters of faith. Their rulings on how to keep the Torah are binding, there are no binding rulings on what to believe. Blind faith has no merit in my opinion.

Well i do not doubt jesus god or his apostles....i do not doudt the prophets or the events that took place by god in the past.....

but i do doubt mans interpretations of scripture...i guess for me truth is in the eye of the beholder...what i see as truth others dont and deny...

the rabbi of judaism seem pretty powerful binding interpretations on followers of judaism.

Moses set up the system in the Torah. If you do not like it, I suggest you take it up with the source of the Torah.

I have no problem with moses and the torah....its the interpretations of man that get me...man lies and are dishonest and wicked ..a man with an evil agenda to decieve can teach versions not of god....then bind its followers to them....thats what scares me....id rather be blinded by the light of jesus that any other ....because no other has died for me....other than jesus

There is nothing that the rabbis have ruled on that is evil. I cannot have meat and dairy together. That is not exactly evil. Perhaps something I disagree with, but I will follow the ruling.

god gave sepecific instruction.....that israel has not or cannot keep...its a perfect law for imperfect man....and imperfect teachers.....unless you are an angel ....how does one keep it perfectly?
