Which of the Ten Commandments covers that?
none
So, you see that the Ten Commandments are not all encompassing. They were never intended to be such.
then why when someone ask jesus what is the heart of the law
...he said hear o israel love the lord with all your heart...this is the greatest commandment....and they said" well said.."..if it is not?
Now, I would say that the tablets were placed in the Ark as a symbol for the Torah. HeShem obviously knew what the Torah was going to say, but those acted as a symbol for the entire Torah so people would remember. We wear tiztzit for the same reason; to remember the commandments.
so what your saying is the 10 are not the greatest commandments....but simply a reminder of the whole torah to keep....
There is nothing in the text anywhere that tells us if any of the commandments are greater than any others.
And that the 10commandments cannot be apart from the whole torah....they are one....to put the 10 into a new covenant would make it an entirely new covenant apart from the old?
Where does anybody in the New Testament do such a thing? Jesus states that not one jot or tittle of the Law shall be changed. He is not speaking of the Ten Commandments, but the Torah.
but you said it was new?
if jesus is speaking of the torah...how is it a new covenant....seems still like the old.....whats new about it?
It is new in my view because it has no honest connection with the one Israel has with HaShem. It is not a renewed one or anything like that to me.
explain this some more...i dont follow you
I do not think there is a covenant full stop. If you want to ask me what I think of something I do not believe exists, it will be difficult for me to provide consistent answers.
see this is why i wish you were a believer...because you would be able to answer the true jewish aspect of christianity...like a paul...
Anyway...sorry that im a slow learner....but i do apreciate all you honest imput..as a jewish man learnered in judaism....

it is my belief that jesus was saying here that the torah will indeed still hold power....but only for those who continue to follow the law....instead of the new covenant.....the new protects from the old law....but if a man choses to live by the law...then what he sows that he reaps.....the law will judge him who is under the law.......after the final judgement...death and hell is cast into the lake of fire....the law will never judge anyone again....for there will be no more death
