The appointment was made, but had not come into reality yet, but when anyone believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, the actual appointment was fulfilled because the word had said that whosoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved. I would think that is a future tense reality from a past statement when applied in the heart of the person makes their prayer of faith to the Lord and then they are sealed unto the day of redemption. Of course the Lord was not surprised seeing as how we know John 1:12 and to as many as received Him to them gave He the power(authority) to become children of God.
If I understand your point fully, no the appointment of eternal life was declared that eternal life would be applied whenever it took place, I do not see that haven't been already made by the person(s). Acts 13:48
No because they never repent and belief the gospel. What did John the Baptist say to the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, 9 and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
I disagree friend. The Renewal is about the New Man; the New Birth. The Verse is about being Born Again; right? The New Birth makes us a New Creation. So it's not about the Oil of the Holy Spirit...
That was my point, but John did tell them what they had to do, and they did not fulfill the appointment of repentance as the text implied. Like in another verse Luke 13:3 except you repent you will perish. Another appointment mentioned in scripture is like this topic, for it is appointed unto all men once to die and after this the judgment, Heb 9:27. If one does not repent, I could say, it was their appointment for failing to repent and believe the gospel. What say you?
In Calvinism that dragging is irresistible resulting in regeneration without mans will/ consent . So man is saved before faith and repentance.
So those who have not been appointed do not repent and believe.
Except the Bible never states that and scripture tells us it’s a result of our faith . John 1:12-13.
