I`m serving God by repenting for my sins. How does that work?
John 1:13.The bible clearly says Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not by works lest any man shall boast. Now show me where in the bible it says you receive the rebirth, faith brings salvation. It would also be great to show rebirth, which is never shown in the bible as you stated it will bring faith, pass that we agree, looking forward to seeing your proof text in that order, reading out of the text and not having to read it into the text. Have a great day.
Not according toExcept you have the new birth in the wrong order
John 1:12-13 is about the consequences of the new birth, giving you the right to be a co-heir sharing in Christ's own inheritance because of your adoption by God as a son.as per John 1:12-13 , John 3:16, Romans 10:9-13.
51You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit, just as your fathers did.
Would it not show that you are obeying God by confessing your sin and thanking him for his forgiveness which we got when Jesus paid all our sin debt by laying down his life?
Got what you are saying. We repent to come in service of God. Repentance itself is not service of God, but mercy of God towards us.
Well, God likes it when we repent. But that isn't serving Him. When we repent we are not doing something for our own benefit, our own gain. We didn't serve God when we let Jesus die for us.
So when we do repent we are not serving the Lord by repenting, doesn't make sense that obedience isn't service.

Not Nehemiah. . .nor all kings. In every case,
the person had already chosen their path before God intervened in their lives.
But it does seem even in your statement that says, We repent to come in service of God, wouldn't our repenting be our service or obedience to repent and turn?
So when we do repent we are serving the Lord by repenting, doesn't make sense that obedience isn't service.
And the apostle, Paul?
Who changed his heart?
The same one that changes the heart of every man who comes to faith.
Funny you would call it "mistake". SIN is not simply 'mistake'.Yes, you keep repeating that. We don't inherit guilt, God just puts it on us when we are born courtesy of Adams's mistake.
If you (God) have a party and a neighbour asks if he can come to your party (repentance). Is your neighbour doing service to you by asking, just because you wanted him to ask and come?
Repentance is a prerequisite and obedience isn't always service i.e. if you restrain yourself from murder, is that really a way to serve God? Will He say to you, 'Well done you didn't murder'?
What is repentance and is it necessary for salvation? | GotQuestions.org
But we aren't talking about having a party! Repentance is an action of faith, it can be rejected or even neglected, but once put into action is called obedience, except you repent you perish. Matt 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. There is a call, there must be a response, accept or not, to receive the call is become faithful, and is not a one time act, but a practice to become a habit. The ball is in our court, we can respond or let it go by.
Is for salvation, but to reframe from committing the same disobedient is a duty( a moral or legal obligation; a responsibility of every Christian, is it not?
True and to let a sleeping dog rest, I agree, nevertheless in closing, when I said,"Is for salvation, but to reframe from committing the same disobedient is a duty( a moral or legal obligation; a responsibility of every Christian, is it not?" could it not also be because love is drawing from the heart the desire placed there at salvation for obedience. So---------------I------become --------silent---to let the dog, rest>@iwbswiaihl
Meditate on this one.
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
