and to you mister jedi apperentice, i pray that god instills that hunger to pray and seek him for answers on the matter.

I will seek His wisdom as I always try to. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

ask and you shall recive

Well, that verse doesn't mean we can ask and receive any old thing we want. God isn't at our disposal like a magic genie.

James 4: 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.

The verse you refer to has a particular idea in mind (and it's not a Florida revival):

Luke 11:10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

So, if I'm examining something, like say, events in Florida, it's unwise to pray and then go with the first "feeling" I get in my gut. Many, many, many, go astray that way (take Mormons for example. That's their primary method for truth tests). All through scripture we are told that wisdom is a virtue. Jesus doesn't just cancel it out by saying "ask and receive". I can't say "God will you grant me health" and continue to lay on the couch eating McDonalds and smoking for example. No, I use wisdom. I get off my [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] and go for a jog and eat right.

It's best to use wisdom and not laziness; even in our thinking and beliefs if not more so.

Now, believe it or not, I do have an open mind. You are more than welcome to give reasons to believe that whatever is going on in Florida is from/of God and I will consider them.

Consider this. The name of Jesus is being raised up. People are being healed and sinners are turning to God.

Now come dear, that isn't a sign of revival. Come now, you should know that.
I was just watching the revival online. My hub was doing everything he could to get my attention away from it. Including getting into a guilt trip about him taking Furry to be put down.

I got tired of it and told that man to tell that spirit to shut up and leave him alone. He shut up.

And I'm still feeling it. In other words my entire body is shaking under the power of God right now.

Honey I understood what you meant. I almost had a comeback that would have gotten me kicked off here. But I was a good girl.

I think these revivals are exciting! Who wouldnt want to see a powerful move of God in this nation!?!

I think we are coming into a day and age where revivals and the anointing of the Spirit is going to break out in random places: malls, schools, McDonalds'...etc

Why wait for God to move just in churches, just on Sundays? Are we not to experience a tangible taste of His presence?!? Does it not say that in the last days, His Spirit will be poured out on all flesh!?

This is not something we want to stiffle with legalism! We should embrace and take an authoritative stance in PROCLAIMING revival to this nation! :preach:

Mainly because I don't have a prayer closet. Being a bachelor means there are clothes all over the place in my closet.:)
^_^ Not that kind of closet, silly! :p

A "Prayer Closet" is a place, anyplace, where you spend time, uninterrupted, without distractions, in God's presence and just "soaking up some Jesus" (as my youth pastor used to say).
