Evidently, the "rich man" didn't keep the whole lawNo
Oh sorry, I did. I looked at it and thought ... not sure what it has to do with the current chatter
LUKE 16:26 " 'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed,
so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.' " (NKJV)
It is still confusing to me.........Great idea for a thread. I didn't vote because there wasn't a reasonable choice than other. I would have voted for an option that stated the law of Moses includes the 10 Cs as the whole law. The Torah or Pentateuch is the law of Moses and does contain the 10 Cs. The phrase the law refers to the Torah.
James specifically shows the law to be a single undividible unit. Paul does the same. Jesus refered to the law as something other than the 10 Cs.
Excellent post dear sisterDear LittleLambofJesus. In Matthew 22: 35-40: Jesus tells a Lawyer: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God wih all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: Love thy neighbour as thyself." Then Jesus points out this great truth: " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." God wants our Love, freely given and No conditions tagged on. It is straightforward, and easy to remember: All we say or do, all we advice or stand for, MUST BE FROM LOVE
AND COMPASSION. Jesus told us to " ask and ye receive," then we thank God and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour, i.e, all we know and all we meet, friends and not-friends. ( Matthew 7: 7-10) We keep asking God and thanking God, then share all Love and Joy with our neighbour. Love is very catching, and if we start treating our neighbour as we would love to be treated, we will gradually change into the men and women which God wants us to become. We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on loving and caring.
God is Love, and God wants loving children/sons and daughters to be with
for eternity. We might not become perfect in this imperfect World,
but God will see our sincere efforts, and God will bless us.
The Bible keeps telling us to " Repent," and " Be Born Again," and when we ask God, we will receive. Jesus our Saviour will help and guide us: JESUS IS THE WAY. I say this with love, LittleLambofJesus. Greetings from Emmy,
your sister in Christ.
Excellent!^ these are the verses i was going to post.....and they tie right into this verse:
"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" ~Micah 6:8
Thanks for jumping in with that.Jumping in with the original post in mind - the NT when talking about law typically refers to the mosaic law, but there's also the "law of Christ" which pertains to life in Christ and by the Spirit.
What does the "Law of Christ" entail? ThksJumping in with the original post in mind - the NT when talking about law typically refers to the mosaic law, but there's also the "law of Christ" which pertains to life in Christ and by the Spirit.
